so this kid that owns a immaculate s13 is going to do an rb26 swap, he says hes keeping the turbos, swaping to rhd, and converting to awd......first off, is awd possible?? he definetly has the funds and capability to do the swap, but awd????

i dont think he knows his shit, he first off wanted to do the sr swap, then he claimed hes getting 200 plus hp with his venom control module, then he said awd rb26...i think with the rb he saw, awd donor car, i have to go awd, he doesnt research.

its possible most likely, but will cost endless amounts of money and tons of work and EXTREME fabrication.

It is possible Hybrid even gave an estimate for back when they were. They estimated 10k for just the AWD conversion that is not with the engine or anyhting. Basiclaly it just isn't worth it. And ya when you say he's doing a swap you mean he is paying someone lots of money to mkae himself think he's cool. I'm mid prosses of rb25 swap and by i'm, I mean my car is on jackstands in the garage.

he actually has a lot of money coming from insurance. he got burned really bad somehow and he gets 15 grand every 2 months. he treats himself like hes a rich snob. he might go through with the swap, he might not, i dont think he knows his shit and just wants to look cool. but dont tell me it wouldnt be kickass to do the awd rb26 in a 240.

yes, this is possible and will cost lots of money. also not many people now but a few s13s came with the option of hicas four wheel steering just like the skylines so that is an option he can use. my cousin has one

Or you could just bring a Nissan FSM or some kind of source of information on Nissan cars and slap him across the face with it. Even if he does have the funds, where the hell is he going to get it done?

not just because almost anything is possible with enough money backing the project, but I've seen one AWD S14, the way it was done was way too much custom work for it to used daily, hell taken to the track more then like 3 times a month, without having stuff breaking left and right

a venom chip wouldn't do shit to a 240sx. esp with a SR swap since hte venom chip is only for a KA ECU not a SR ECU. even if he got it to work. the Venom chip will only help him blow his own engine up as he ups the boost since they were designed for non turbo's it basically advances timing, and leans out a car. a definitly no no for turbo cars.

I can't remember where I saw it, but a shop does the whole swap rb26dett and the awd and charges anywhere from $14,000 to $16,000. I wouldn't mind having that done if I had the money. I can't imagine it would have any more problems than a normal car if everything is done by a quality shop that specializes in that type of custom work. I would use it as a drag car. 1,200whp and really good slicks, and where clear for take off.

With $16k, I don't want to wait for the car. I would either spend it on a VR4 or a Z32 and have a little left over for mods. Sorry but it seems like your making the car into something it isn't.:rolleyes:

yeah....see in CA not many people know about the skyline "electrical map" so the elctrical part of the swap would be like shit...
as far as for the physical part, the tranny mounts somewhat behind the original tranny. ur stick shift would be farther away from fire wall. so imagine how would the front axels have bent to matsh the front tiers. (i saw it my self, the dude was geting the RB swap in his car, but he kept it RWD)

i want to have a AWD SR20 240, but its just lame... i wanted the handling benefit. SO i spend the money on suspention. the car hadls good now..call IT!

If I really wanted an AWD car, I would want the Eclipse GSX over a VR4. Have you ever tried to work on a VR4. They are a bitch and a half to work on. Plus GSX's are very fast when done right. First I would look for a Gallant VR4 though. Talk about a sleeper.

just for info...unstable hybrids...who are now closed do to a law suit or something had an AWD 240...and they preformed it on a couple of cars from what i heard...when they were shut down i believe they were working on a way to convert the rb26 tranny from rwd to awd...push of the button or something...wish they figured it out or whatever...crazy money to do that though.... :2cents:

you can make AWD by droping it on a new frame(like a blazer or somethin)or get a driveaxle&transaxle off a AWD vehicle-hit up a junk yard, and it will take along time to do this.
