hoods for 1st gen eclipse

wtf, i have seen 1st gen's without the bubble on driver side of hood and i want one were can i get one? or can i take it out?

some carbon fiber hoods may not have it.. other than that, there are no OEM made ones.

if you have a 2.0 engine in your 1g you need the bump. the cam gears stick up above the engine and the bump makes room for them to fit. of course you could just take off your cam gears :evillol j/k

The 1.8l 1g DSM's came w/o the hump in the hood since it didnt need it, the 2.0, if it wasnt for the hump, you wouldnt be able to close your hood. BTW, why would you wanna get rid of the hump?, it add's such a nice effect to the car.

I've seen 1g 1.8l w/o the hump, I think it only came w/o the hump on the 1.8l Plymouth Laser. But trust me, there is a OEM hood w/o the hump for 1g's probably only used on the laser 1.8l

you dont know shit my best friend has a laser 1.8 and has hump also 2.0 don't need the hump what you said was bull shit whomever said it. I know for fact because iv'e been to nopi and saw plenty of 2.0 w/o hump the cam gears sit flush with were the hood sits not higher also i don;t want the hood because i want to be origanl something thats important were i live. by the way every 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen have bubbles in the hood, dont say things just to sound like a know it all but all in all thanks for the help not

just take a look at the 3rd gen picture that was posted. i win.

ha you definitley got served...i think though, that the bump on the 2.0 liter models is because of the high timing belt cover. The 1.8 liter models dont have the timing belt there, so they dont need the bump. If I'm wrong about that though, lets still be friends

1.8's dont need it but they still have it

1g 1.8's: They don't need it, but the still have it.
1g 2.0's(all of them): They need it, and they have it.
2g n/t's: They don't need it, and it should actually be on the passenger side if you want to be correct, but they still have it.
2g turbos: They need it, and they have it
3g's: They have a fricken V6, they don't have anywhere close the same engine, and they never did have it!

i have just read yalls post's some of yall dont know what the fuck yall are talking about, most do, like i said on the very first post i have seen 1g eclipse w/o bump on it that picture verifies what i was talking about, i am not going to appolagize to yall because yall asked, i will apolagize because i took anger from my own personal life out on yall, i asked a simple question in the begining and was not asking yall to do all of my work for me, i do have google but i can't find it and thought hay a fourum is about swaping info and so i figured i would see if anybody knew of any sites sorry for asking. i am not the best typer and my english is not good because i am add and have some other problem that confuses me with my grammer. I do no that i own a 1g and 3g eclipse so dont tell me what they dont have on there hoods, if you were to go and look at a complety stock 3g eclipse hood you would see to [SIZE=7] ass bumps on the hood one on the driver side and one on the passenger side. i will post a picture of it soon when i get my digital camera back from a friend. i am not trying to be a dick but dont say shit to sound intellegent unless your sure that what you say is true because it just shows your stupidity. i have seen plenty of 2.0 1g without the bubble on the hood i think that the bubble sucks and for that i want it cut out or a hood without it becuase i would like to put the hood scoops that makes it look like (i dont know what its really called but is called the mongoose in need for speed underground). i am going to ignore everything that was said earlier and appolagize to whoever i have offended and ask again where can i get a hood without the bubble on it or how hard would it be to cut it out?

Too make your own, just cut out the exact area the hump takes up, then sand the edges down, make a sheet metal plate to exactly fit, then secure it, i guess by welding, yes, welding, then sand perfectly, then do the whole paint process. If you know the process of shaving door handles, its the same thing but you must cut the piece out of the hood. I personally haven't seen an aftermarket 1g hood without the hump. and about the 3g humps, are you positive those humps aren't really part of the hole headlight to hood connection to make it all flow, and not actual humps in the hood. I will also look at a 3g tomorrow and check again.

Look into a VIS Invader hood.

yeah so its been a while thanx to whomever explained how to cut the hood bubble out, my friend has a body shop and a am supoose to start work on cuttin it out soon. i will go back on my word maybe not all 3g eclipses have bumps on hood but everyone i have seen does the pic posted earlier doesnot show it because it was takin to far away to tell i mean these bumps are really fucking small but they are there and not all g have v6"s like posted above
