96 RAV4 brakes

I have the short two door RAV4. I've been told there weren't many manufactured and have never seen another. I've actually been stopped and told how cute my car is. Well, it is and I like driving it;I got a good buy on it, but next time I'll opt for the longer one.
Sometimes when I brake to a stop, my brakes (or whatever) squeal. Other times they don't. I haven't had any problems with them grinding or not stopping. All other cars I've owned, when the brakes start to go out, they go out fast and sound much louder, a very unmistakable sound.
Do I need a brake job and what exactly should I expect needs to be done? Could this noise be coming come from a different problem?

Well ! I have a 1996 4 door. I also had the same problem, inspite of getting the brakes checked by a mechanic. I showed it to him again & he said that the noise could be because of some small stone/dirt that has got into the break pads. It may be worth getting yr breakes checked, but if the noise is only when U drive very slowly & in intermitent; then most likely it is the same problem that I had.

I need the pin connection diagram for the Cassette player that is installed in he Rav4. Can U help me with this ?
