After 6 weeks of waiting... the Fidanza 9.5lbs flywheel arrived.
And after a month of down time, the Z is back on the road.
Of course, when the flywheel came I was fighting off the flu so my good buddy did the all the hard work at his place. What are bro's for??? THis sorta shit!
Here are some pics... of the old and new stuff. I'm sure you can tell which is which.

So, new mods to add to the list...
ACT street/strip Clutch
Fidanza 9.5lb Lightweight flywheel
Wooo.. I'm glad to be back in my glorified Go-Kart and not driving the work van that measures quarter miles in minutes.

Cool. Hows the throttle response with the Fidanza? You'll like the ACT. Nice to hear its running again.

On second look: Is that a sticker i see on that yellow presure plate. And as well all know stickers=rice and to make it all worse that is inside the engine. Inside rice!!!
That is the worst kind of rice; at least most rice boys put the stickers on the car so they are rice only on the ouside. But now you are rice on the inside.....shame on you Matt :disappoin

It's all good Arcie, I told ya I'd let you drive it when I come out to Arizona.
The Fidanza flywheel is sooo lightweight it revs so freely. Wow... the car is actually twitchy. The idle control valve deal is shot, so it constantly dies. So with minimal flywheel effect, it likes to die when you come to a stop. Rather embarassing hahah..
So thats next to be fixed.

Somebody was telling me about that. They said usually you have to adjust the idle to 1k.

EDIT: Yea you gotta watch for the stickers on your pressure plate. They put the SFI sticker on mine and it was one of those tough stickers like you get on CD cases......teh GHEY :gay:

Damn it. Well now he is going to tell us all of these stories about how he lined up next to some fast assed car and he didnt really put it to them because his idle was a little jittery. well i geuss thats what you have to ascrafice, lost HP and fast revs for a high and jittery idle... oh well. shoudlnt have gone so light, 9.5lbs... thats probably lighter than my lawn mower flywheel. thoes magneto flywheels are HEAVY.

The jitteryness isn't really caused by the flywheel. It's caused by the idler control valve. Apparently this is a common problem on SRs.. which causes them irradict idles and the willingness to die coming to a stop.
The flywheel just isn't helping the situation, so once I fix the problem. It'll be smooth sailing.

Question: How fast do revs drop in very tight corners? Enough to go below the powerband?

Haven't taken it on any tight roads yet. Just city driving so far. And the revs don't drop too far, you have to stay ontop of them. You can't just loaf around.
But it's not like it just drops out from under you. Very responsive, very nice.
