I use Quaker State 10-30. Nothing synthetic. Nothing special. I switch to 5-30 in the winter. I usually just buy it from Menards when it goes on sale.

Syntec is good. I prefer Mobil 1 5w-30. Either way, you're better off running synthetic unless you start using for the first time it in a high mileage vehicle (over 75k).

No, this is "what the hell happened this time" fix. Pulley went. So I figured while they have it, get some other stuff done.
Paint shop gets it back when the spoiler comes in. When you own a black car, everything shows on it. Even the mistakes they make.

Did your pulley give you any sign it was going out? Which pulley was it?

One of the tenstion pulleys. Ya, it gave a sign. Was driving down US 19 (Florida) when my strering locked up. Then the temp light and most other lights came. Then I said What the #@%* is this.
No it was making noise for about two weeks. Was hoping it would last till after Christmas. That morning it sounded like "Tony the Tiger". Then it sounded like Rice Krispies. Can you tell I just got home from work, and it's time to eat?

I changed my supercharger belt a couple weeks ago and now my other belt (farther back in the engine) keeps whistling. I thought it was the belt but the tech I always take my car to says he had the belts off and they were good. He cleaned them and took a couple pulleys off a checked them out and said they were in good shape and the whistling is nothing to really worry about. I really trust this guy but I dont know why the pulley would be whistling. I have sprayed some Slick 50 on the pulley and let it set and it seems to have calmed it down. Should I be more worried than the tech thinks?
