My 87 camry has a blower motor resistor that has failed so I only have the 2 highest speeds on my heater and I know I can go buy one at Toyota, but I'm cheap. Has anyone out there figured out how to repair one??

You can try taking it out of the car and tying the broken pen spring-looking things to themselves. With 2 speeds out you will find 2 that are broken apart. This is a tedious thing to do but it might work for a while, if you are so inclined to try it. You may need tweezers to do this, as the wires/springs are really small. I had a friend who was a former Toyota tech show me how to do this. It only lasted a couple of days and then the problem returned. I just learned to live with it as I was only missing the slowest speed. YMMV.
