I just bought a 97 328i. First time I ever owned a BMW. It didn't have an owners manual, and already 3 warning lights are lit. Does anyone know what they mean and what I can do to fix them? Thank you.

1. yellow circle with a triangle inside and an exclamation point inside the triangle

2. red circle with 3 bars on the left and right of the circle

3. red seat belt light with what looks like an airbag

1. Possibly you need brakes

1) This is the ASC indicator. It comes on when the system is turned off. To get the light out, turn the system back on by pushing the ASC button on the consul. It's located just ahead of the shift lever. ASC is the Automatic Stability Control system.
2) This is a brake pad wear indicator light. Check you brakes.
3) This is an air bag fault. Sorry, no advise on this one.

1. The Triangle with the ! point inside, will come on ant time there is a malfunction in the vehicle. ANYTHING. 2. Not sure need more info. 3. The air bag - seat belt circuit is not closing when your in the seat. it could be as simple as the wire to your seat belt sensor is broken, or as complicated as the air bag operation is malfunctioning. Until All items are repaired, the triangle ! point will keep flashing. 4. Remember, when getting into these German cars, First step on the brake before turning on the key, this sets the warning system on the old series 3 cars. HOpe this is some help.
