1987 toyota shakes while driving. Help Please!

I have a 1987 non turbo, auto. It shakes when in drive, but doesn't shake on park.

Mechanic said it was the spark plugs, spark plug wires, and the valve cover gasket because it was leaking oil into the spark plugs. so, I believed him and had the work done for $500. But, the problem still exist. Someone please help me.

Where do you feel the vibration most? whole car? steering wheel? brake peddle?

does the car idle and run nice? or is it underpowered or hesitant?

Yeah the whole car vibrates. The car idles at 900 rpm on park but when on drive it goes down to 600 rpm. Please let me know if you have further info. thanks.

While in drive does it shake only when you are accelerating or even when the gas pedal is not pushed. I have an '88 that shaked when i pushed the pedal and the center bearing between the two halves of the driveshaft was shot.
