Alright i have a 94 Eclipse GS N/T 1.8 and i would really like to get some bump in my ride but im a little ify because right now all i have is a 52x4 sony xplode deck and when i turn the bass up to 6 out of 10 and have the volume somewhat loud the radio will shut off. right after i installed the stereo i had to get my alternator rebuilt not sure if thats a coincidence or what but the reason im ify is if i buy a couple of subs and an amp and then i blow the alternator or something.
I wanted to know if any one has had power problems with there stereos in their 1g's and does a sub and amp drain alot more power than just like a stock set up.

Does this happen when the car is on or off? Because if it is happening when it is off then thats no big deal. I have 2 bazooka 10's and a 750w bazooka amp and my stereo cuts off if i turn it up to high and the engine isnt running also. I dont think thats very uncommon. your car has to be running for the alternator to work... but you probably knew that.

hmm, i was running a 2400 watt legacy amp to one 15 inch audiobahn sub. Ran it all summer til it got stolen. Never had any problems with my alternator...but then again i have a 2g.

do you have your head unit run through the stock wiring or an aftermarket wiring kit?

if your asking me no, its not the stock wiring the stereo was obviously stolen before and i had to solder each wire. i didnt use a kit
