I have so many possible plans for my GSR. Most of them too much money. I finally realized that I'm not going to be able to do most of this stuff at this point in my life. The intake, exhaust, all that stuff is cheaper, and bolts right on. That's probably why most people do that. I don't find many people who do engine swaps, or majorly tune cars, unless they have money, or a lot of time. Sorry to ramble, but I guess the point is, other than the basic I/H/E, what else is there that would not require much technical engine skill (for ex. not internal work like cams, or pistons) After a full exhaust system and intake, would something like upping the fuel injectors, rail, pressure regulator, and performance fuel filter do anything?
Main question for this post. Are there any cheap mods for the car, even little stuff that will help? My friend with a 240sx, got the 300zx twin turbo fuel filter, and it made a crap-load of diffence. It cost him $11.50. Are there any things like that for integras? GSR is specific?

maybe ur friend who put that fuel filter on noticed an increase in power becuase his old filter was probably dirty as hell. a fuel filter wont give u any considerably power. it will only benifit ur car if ur stock filter is dirty and clogged up.
adding more fuel without any extra air coming into the motor is pointless. After u have done the basic bolt ons like I/H/E then the only thing left to do is internal work or nitrous or boost.
dont waste ur money on fuel rail, injectors, etc if u dont plan on adding more air into ur motor. just save up all that money and get urself some cams. a fpr is recommened with cams so u can tune it.
why dont u wanna do cams? it's very simple to do amd will give the most HP outta the I/H/E.
fuel rail, injectors, performance fuel filter will cost u around $350-400. just save another hundred and get a stage 1 or stage 2 cams dat dont require upgraded valve springs since ur on a budget.

That's a good point. stage 1 cams would not need to have upgraded springs and retainers. I would have no idea how to put them in though, that is also part of the problem. I am very mechanically inclined, but I just have never done anything like this. My friend and I worked on a 1991 Saab 9000 CD turbo. We changed the transmission to a manual (from auto), replaced the timing chain and many of the sprockets there, worked on all the accessories, and pulled them off, screwed with the exhaust manifolds, lightened the flywheel. So I feel somewhat confident about my mechanical ability, but only with a Saab. I probably know more about his car than I do my own. I've only had mine for about 3 or 4 months now. Are there any really, and I mean really good information sources for doing something like replacing camshafts? Step by step, or even some suggestions for someone to contact, or perhaps where a place would put them in.... would that be expensive to have someone put them in for me? (I would rather do it myself, but I really don't want to screw something up. Not as much pride in having someone tune your car I know, but if I can't do it hey)

installing cams is pretty simple if u have the right tools. if u do the cams u might as well change the timing belt and water pump too. thats what i did when i put my cams in. the hardest part in do n this install is get n the crank pulley bolt off. if u dont have an impact gun then it's gonna be pretty tough. easy for me cuz i used a powerful impact gun. bolt came right out with the impact gun.
Definitly get cams if u dont want to spend $ on turbo or nitrous
lemme see if i can find a website for u....

Wow, that's an amazing website. They go through everything very very well. I really appreciate the help my friend. I may actually be doing the cams then. Adjustable cam gears at the same time would be convienent I suppose. Btw, how the heck are you supposed to "tune" the cams with cam gears, to make it run better?

well 1st of all YOU wont be tune n the cam gears. when u install them set them both at 0 degrees and then get it dyno tuned by a professional. only way to tune them is with dyno tuning.
and i would do the cam gear install the same time u r do n the cams.
just search around on ebay for stuff for ur car and other websites like www.honda-tech.com If u go to that website and go to the "performance" section, u will see alot of people sell n stuff. i got my CROWER non-vtec cams from there brand new for $340. cams for vtec motors will run u more like $500. u can always search on ebay for parts. i got a pair of SKUNK2 cam gears for $97 on ebay. they retail like $180.
i swear my car is sponsored by ebay. everything on my car was baught from ebay

Hey boosted, how did the cams work for your car?

these cams r great for NON vtec motors. the 62404 stage 3's are even better, but to take full advantage of the cams, u really need to up ur compression ratio and have it dyno tuned. right now i just have the cams in tha car. no pistons in yet and not tuned. i got all the parts to put in some B16 PR3 high compression pistons, and will be install n it when i have time, maybe in 2 months. once that's done i'll get it dyno tuned. hoping to pull around 165 whp
CROWER cams are great for B18a/b motors. highly recommend. the cam's creat power after 3K rpms and pulls pretty strong. once i get everything in the car it will most definitley pull alot more!

yep if your going N/A cams and pistons are going to have to be your next step. but if you want cheap power you can get a N2O kit for right around 500 and theres 70hp right there.

i noticed that the crower cams are registered for 3k-8k rpm's. so it can go up to 8k rpm's and still put out power? even though our non-vtec teg's don't go above 7200 rpm's, would it be in our best intrest to upgrade the vlavetrain ie. springs, retainers, and valves to utilize that extra rpm range?

i would definitely invest in the springs and retainers if i were u. the stock springs cant handle the high lift of these cams if ur gonna go with the crower 403 or 404 then get the springs and retainers. the 402's dont need the springs but those are faggot cams if u ask me. go for the big dogs! 404's!!!!
u dont need to change the valves, rock the stock ones.
these cams make power over the stock LS redline so raising ur rev limiter will be helpful. if u have OBDII cars (96 or older) ur gonna need to get an OBDI ecu and an OBDII to OBD1 harness and chip the ecu
