Bad heater core? Somebody that actually knows something about HVAC should tell you, not me - but i'd guess u have a bad heater core. They're not that expensive or hard to replace. Listen to someone that actually knows wut they're talking about though

Your thermostat could be stuck open. Does the air inside the car smell sweet with the blower motor on high? Are you using up coolant? If so could be your heater core and it is leaking it out most likely by the firewall.

Does the air ever get slightly warm, or does it always feel cold? Also, what does your engine(coolant) temperature guage read? My 2000 GT with 57,000 just had it's thermostat replaced last night. It was stuck open causing the heat to only be warm, and the car only warming up to about 120-150 F, never reaching 195 which is the normal temperature for my car. Now it runs great and the heat is hot again. You'll have to give more details to help you out.

HI, My Grand AM heat Used to be slightly warm, but now that it is cold outside, It just blows cold air. My gauge says its 1/4 all the time, maybe a bit under. Shouldnt it be around 1/2 somewhere? anyways if it is the thermostat how much do they cost, and are they easy to install...Thanx

My situation/problem was exactly like mbrownab's. I purchased a higher-end thermostat(about $12 instead of like 7 for a basic one), but I couldn't install it myself on my 2000 GT. The lower part of the thermostat housing had like a half inch between the one bolt and the exhaust that sweeps around the side of the engine(V6). After trying about 2-3 times and tearing stuff apart to try to get to the bolt, I gave up. Luckily I found a reputable guy to put it in for me for only like $50. That was a great deal considering PepBoys wanted $150 to do the same thing. Anywayz, if you can change it yourself great, but some of these engines have cramped spots.
