Does anyone know the possibilty of putting a GN motor into a 1990 buick riveria... I know the GN is rwd and the rivieria is fwd but is there any possible of swapping?

Or if not a GN motor how about a supercarger from say a 95 riveria

The challenge is finding a FWD tranny to take the abuse The GN powerplant is known to chew trannies. We have the RWD ones down but there are not reallly any perfomance built FWD Buick trans axles

what if you built up the exsisting tranny.. maybe a new torque converter...but it would be a pretty easy swap though right.

The 4T60 is your only bet, and sadly the transmission has serious durability problems, which pisses me off cause that's the one and only reason why the LeSabre T-Type's in 87-89 never got a turbo. However there's about 40 pages of updates that you can perform on one of these transmissions if you have the time and the money to do it. Try and find one out of a wrecked LeSabre T-Type, these had a lower axle gearing than the regular 4T60's(2.92) which is midly admirable. In all honestly your best bet is to go with an L67 swap from a 90-96 Buick/Pontiac that had the S/C 3800 in it, easier and less modifying to perform.

Here's a site that would give you good insight on what you need to do.

Cool thanks for the info I had thought about doing the 3800 sc but thought a gn motor would make a great sleeper and have more performance mods available. Maybe I'll just have to buy a gn...
