Ok, so I am starting to look for a car as a somewhat daily driver but more of something to play around with on the weekend. Heres how the ad reads.....
"I put this thing on the dyno a few weeks ago and ran a 13.2@107.3mph 300hp 300 lbft torque. Stock boost is about 7 lbs this is at 11-12lbs of boost. Tags good till 09/06. 1992 Ford Thunderbird SC with the 3.8 v6 Supercharged ,5spd.
It has a 147k miles on it but has new head gaskets, motor mounts fuel pump and filter. This thing runs and drives great. It is in Great shape other than a few bumps and scratches(nothing major). It has a few small dings in the door and one by the back window. It has black leather with a small rip in back seat ( very small) and a tear in the drivers seat. It could be fixed for about $15 or $20 will get you a seat cover. It has power everything. If you have any questions ask. I am the 2nd owner and have taken great care of this car. Throw out some offers best one takes it.
P.S. I am asking $2500 obo"

I really have no knowledge of Tbirds I emailed him with
How long have you owned the car?
- How long since recent tune up?
- How long since last Break/ Tire change/ Fluid change
- Is there any other mods to the car?
- Have you been the primary driver? If so is this daily driver for you?
- If you dont mind me asking, why exactly are you selling it?
Any input on this car?? I think im interested in this more because I am looking between 2-3k price range

Definetly buy that. I know i would. 2500 is a good price, hell i'd pay 3500 for that. He's obviously got some work done to it-for it to run 300 *rear wheel* hp. Those cars are stock 210-230hp and alittle over 300ft lbs torque. The sc's are a rare breed, and i've read that they are incredible as far as speed and handling-compared to other similair tbirds.
I have a 95 LX with a 4.6 V8, which i love-but the sc's have an attitude to them. I got the same wheels as that car, those are my favorite wheel option for tbirds.
BTW, don't be that worried about the miles etc, my car has 126K and it's a champ. Basically, even if that tranny goes in a week-it's worth to fix, definetly NOT a junker.

I may be living in a cave but I've never heard of using a dyno to run a 1/4 mile time. My Firebird is capable of 14.4 with 260hp and 360tq at the rear wheels at over 5000' in elevation so equate that to 13.0-13.5 at sea level. He's in the ball park with his numbers.
Anywho, go drive it like you stole it and have it checked out thoroughly. $2500 isn't a bad price for an SC but it could be a lemon in disguise. (Ask me how I know!)
