Brake Stand Burnouts..How.?

Anyone do these kinda burnouts with an automatic bird? I've done many 360 burnouts but was never able to do a brakestand.
Do you lightly hold the break?? Or hold it down firmly, then mash the gas?? Yeah i know i sound like 17 year old that just got his first car :-) but lemme know if you did it.
Incase your wondering what inspired this.. the other night i was watching overhaulin-and chip foose did a crazy burnout, then into a donut.

Well when I had my Z28, I did many brakestands. There are a few factors to consider when doing one, two main ones are power and tires. First of all, the more power you have, the easier it will be. If you have enough power and don't have tires that bite too much it should be easy. It will be a little easier if you can get the rear tires a little wet first. Hold the brakes with your left foot and with the right, give er. You will have to hold the brake as hard as you have to so the car won't go forward. Try it a couple times and you will get the feel for how much gas you need to give against how much brake. The hard part is to get the rear wheels spinning, once they are, you can keep going until you have no tires left or they start biting and the brakes won't hold you back anymore.
Just a small note, if you like your car, it's not the best thing for it, although can be fun. Remember also, the cops don't really appreciate that type of thing neither do neighbours, so do it where neither one are around to piss off.

Hey thanks. Yeah, i would NEVER do this stuff in or around public/residential places. I always go to deserted lots at like 2am when i'm just chilling. Thanks for the tip, on how exactly to do it. I just want to light them up once, thats it-just to get it down. BTW, my tires have bad traction-so this will make it easier. Maybe i'll coat my tires with some armor all :-)

Put some bleach on them first. It will reduce tire wear and will make a nice white thick smoke. Don't use armorall because it may not all burn off and might make driving difficult.

Yeah i heard about that bleach trick :-)

Hey guys.. just came back from painting some black top. I did 2 burnouts, the first time was good-but only my right wheel was burning up (tcs was off, why did this happen?) then did a counter clock 180 to make the other tire have its fun.
Second time, i braked just enough so the car wouldn't move, then punched my pedal about half way to the floor-and released the brake, this was a good 6ft burnout-once again only the right wheel burnt out, then the left started about a second later.
Was fun, but thats probably the only time i'll do stupid shit like that. I had to get it out of my system :-)
I love thats smell..

no trac-loc...
But it had me thinking, trac-loc is essentially a posi diff, where power will go to the 'easiest' wheel, but still better then an open diff. So when weight is being transfered to the right or left side, (IE A Turning burnout) the wheel that the weight ISNT on (So if i turn left, the left wheel shouldnt have as much weight on it) should be the only one to spin, even with trac-loc? Because I did a burnout where i wasnt turning and both tires left marks?

Well, i believe my 95 has an open differential.. I posted in the engineering/tech forum about this. When i did donuts, basically the wheel with less weight on it-did the smoking, but once i straightened out the car-still burning out after the 360 both tires smoke and leave very good marks.
I believe its got to do with the fact (randomtask said this) of the engine working in clock wise, the something with the ring gears..i forgot. Another thing is that when your the only person *driver*, your weight goes on that side-giving the left side better traction-therefore the diff sensing the slightly lighter weight/less traction on the right side wheel-giving it more torque.
BTW, i like donuts much better :-)

I have a 95 also and when I take it to the strip to run it both the tires usually spin. It doesn't do shit by way of traction with street tires on it but it sure puts on a helluva show. I'm not sure if my speaker box and amp have anything to do with both tires spinning.

My 95 will burn both at the same time.

someone told me i need posi rear. but it does infact only burn the right tire.

If you want both to spin you will need trac-loc or park on ice.
