Drive shaft Lubrication

I have to grease the zirc fittings on the driveshaft about every 30,000 miles to stop a noise that sounds like a squealing fanbelt from the back of the truck.

Anyone else familiar with this?

Also I had to replace the radiator @ 210,000 because it wore out. It never was hot or lacking in anti-freeze. They couldn't fix it because it is made of plastic. It was leaking from the seams at the top of the tank. :uhoh:

The Toyoto schedleduled maintenance guide recommends lubricating the propeller shaft/fittings every 5,000 miles (2004 maintenance guide). So it's not surprising you have to feed it some grease every 30,000 miles. A little grease at scheduled maintenance intervals is much cheaper than replacing the components that wear out due to maintenance neglect.

Your radiator problem is normal for plastic tank radiators, many people would be happy if they all lasted 210,000 miles. A few radiator shops can repair them but it's probably better to buy a new radiator.

Most vehicle parts will wear out at some time, so it's only natural that some components will need repalcing after 210,000 miles.
