Hello,
I hope this thread will not be useless :
1) maybe these two pics are new for you ? for me yes ! I saw these today and it shows the Monaco GP2002 F1 already taken by Edvar :
http://www.autotitre.com/forum/up/3edee4e7fb.jpg
http://www.autotitre.com/forum/up/f82275523c.jpg
2) A F1 was spotted today in Paris by someone ! It was on Champs Elysees. the only infos : it is grey with english plates. I cannot actually say if this story is true. For example, I don't know if the car is just passed of stayed in Paris. In the last case, I hope see it.

Well this proves my theory that the 'R66 MCL' plated silver F1 with the HDF Kit was the car with the unique rectangular headlamps. I had never seen photos that could confirm this so thanks very much for sharing them Phil. I hope you get to see the car as well.

Hello,
When I saw the headlamps, I was sure that you would love those pics
For the F1 spotted in Paris, it is not the same, the "spotter" says there is not HDF kit.
Do you have an idea on which f1 would travel in France ?

No, but I have about 2 dozen cars that could probably be excluded from the list of possibilities. Basically all the cars in North America. ;) :D
Lets see - grey/silver F1 with British plates spotted in France. Maybe it was Juan Barazi's car with the blue interior that Chris likes so much? I'm drawing a blank on the suspected chassis # of that one at the moment. Maybe it was Gordon in XP3. There are probably a few more possibilities none of us are aware of.
I really only cover this continent. Someone else, like YOU for instance is going to have to take ownership of tracking down all the cars in Europe. ;) I know you are trying! :bigthumb:
Thanks again - very special shots of what is probably a very special F1.

There seem to be two of these silver HDF-kitted F1s - at least that is how many I have seen. There's this one, and Paul Stewart's which was used in the Martin Brundle "Supercars" DVD. I strongly believe that this car is the one on the lift in TVRFreaks photos. If he had taken a shot of the nose of the car, that would have confirmed it, but I am fairly certain I'm correct.
Both of these silver cars are nearly identical, with the biggest difference being those unique headlights that I've never seen on any other F1. Even the glass lens that covers the headlights on this car appears smaller in relation to the all the other F1s I have seen. It's almost like this car is squinting. Stewart's F1 was lacking the GTR 5-spoke wheels on the Supercar DVD, but I suspect he may have both with a set of race tires fitted to the other wheels.
The interiors of these two cars are almost the same as well, both having a GT-style seat treatment finished black leather and what appears to be a red suede on all three seating positions. They each have a different steering wheel - Paul Stewart's is the standard Nardi wheel with a red suede section at the bottom between the 4 o'clock and 8 o'clock positions, and his wheel also has a unique center emblem with a silver outline. This 'R66 MCL' car has a different style of wheel - the same one as in #038, #011 & #073 - it is a little more sculpted and race-oriented than the standard wheel. In this car its finished in all black. Another difference is that Paul Stewarts F1 has a NAV-unit screen on the right side that this car doesn't seem to have when you look at TVRFreak's photos.
I think I'm on the record stating this once before, but it wouldn't surprise me if this 'R66 MCL' car was the other F1 road car that has an LM-spec engine like #073. It's purely speculation on my part though. We'll find out if I'm right or wrong someday I'm sure.

Hello,
just to remember you "the same one as in #038, #011 & #073" that #073 has not these rims.
And Erik, what do you think about a close relation with McLaren ? why not another car owned by Mansour Ojjeh or by Mika Hakkinen or Ron Dennis ?

I agree there must be some close relationship with this car to the company somehow. I don't really have a guess as to whom though.

Every time I see a picture of this vehicle it seems to me as if the glass covers over the headlights are shaped differently than those on all the other F1s, but perhaps this is just an illusion created by the actual square bulbs.

To me, it looks like the inside edge of the light cover is the correct height, but the outside edge looks to be at least 3cms lower, or just over an inch. I'll try to find a photo of a normal car from a very similar angle this weekend and put them up side by side for comparison. Its definitely not an optical illusion, but the change is so slight that it does leave you wondering.

The ad is bogus - the info is wrong. Safe bet is to ignore it. That car is not the same color as the one in these shots. There are reportedly only two F1s that have received an LM-spec engine and that certainly isn't one of them though the car that started this thread could be, but that's just my guess.
The car in the ad is #045 so you might find more photos of it searching the forum.

First photo is #007 after the headlight covers fell off. I don't know the details of it, but there's probably a couple people here who do.
The second one is the converted "Ameritech F1." It was the original means to get F1s into the united states before the show and display regulations were instated.
As for the third one...it might have been a one-off customization, or an upgraded exhaust package.

I've seen them all.
The silver car is the only shot I have ever seen of the exterior on an Ameritech F1, showing the modifications that Amerispec Corp apparently had to make in order to certify them for street use. This photo was published in the Dec 1997 Road & Track article on the McLaren F1. None of the Ameritech F1s still look like that though. In fact, someone who worked for Amerispec claimed that all the changes to the cars were made without making any permanent modifications to the cars, thus allowing them to be easily converted back to stock. Others have claimed that not all of the cars were converted in the first place. The world may never know...
The black car is Mr Selldorff's #007, simply missing its headlight covers. I believe the story was that they flew off at speed. There was a thread here before with several other shots of the car in this condition.
The last photo you are inquiring about is of chassis #069, the Fox Valley Motorcars F1, that has been discussed here multiple times in the past. The exhaust appears to lack the standard catalytic converters and looks more like what was fitted on the LMs. That exhaust may have been an option of some sort, but it's the only standard F1 road car I have ever seen with it. This was the car that was imported to the US improperly, then the owners attempted to sell it and it was apparently confiscated and possibly deported.
