I was curious how practical it would be to add AWD to a 98 honda prelude and what would actually need to be done. Since some hondas use AWD, I figured that it is possible. What do you guys think about this? I don't know much about drivetrains so any input would be helpful. It seems that any form of AWD jurassically decreases 1/4 times, am I wrong? The next part is could it actually be done with a H22A engine? Would a new tranny be neccessary and if so which one?

Yes, you would need a whole new tranny. It could technically be done with a CRV drive-train, but the fabrication and custom work isn't really worth it.

Yea, you would need so much custom work that it's not worth it. And AWD helps only on launches. It'll allow you to launch from redline and get out of the hole hella fast. AWD cars lose more power to the wheels then other cars. The closest thing that you could do would be to add an LSD, slicks, and work on your takeoff.
