I have nearly $900 in parking fines and they keep sending me mail that says ther gonna put a boot on my car. I was wandering if anyone new if they can boot in your driveway or does it have to be parked on the street for them to do that? Their crooks down here i tell ya.....
And if I sold the car doesnt the parking fines follow it? Thats how it was explained to me..
Help Anyone?

If you commit the violation, then be a man and pay the fine.

if you sell the car then the new owner will not be able to register it in the same state as you until the fines are paid. He can sue you to pay for those fines unless you specify in writing that $900 in fines is owed on the car. I do not believe that they can boot the car in your driveway.

i know a guy whoes car was booted and he took the tire off, and replaced it with the spare. He was then charged with stealing goverment property, (that would be the boot) haha

Screw it take the fender off and drive with the boot on there! Thats what my uncle tried to do. Then your not stealing it, you're merely borrowing it.

how the hell did you get 900$ in parking tickets??????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????? and about taking off the tire.. the boot covers the lugs, so how is that possible... and then if it is possible, what if he just left the boot and tire there? its not stealing if you dont take it.

Aquired them all while i was working doing property management. Some were for being in the 2hr window of the street cleaner, or front bumper in the red zone and they were usually $45 to $60 and if not paid in 15days they doubled so here in LA its real easy to reach that amount.

They will put the boot on when getting your next ticket. If you park illegally again, the citing officer will be notified about your outstanding tickets, he will then put the boot on the car. The only way to have the boot legally removed is to pay all your outstanding tickets. So pay up as soon as you get them for now on...

Ya I pretty much had come to that conclusion so ive been driving the company truck as much as possible or parking in the garage below. It was just that first 2 months that I had just moved here to Los Angeles that all the fines occured. Lesson learned.

http://www.universalboot.com/products/Wheel-Boot.html Buy one and boot the cop who booted you, hahahahahahha, that would be so funny.
Or put the boot on your own car so that the cop thinks it is already booted and will just skip you.
