whats the deal with the motor mounts? does the tranny mount from my dx bolt up to the 89 teg's tranny? and the same question for the rear mount.
sorry for such a dumb question, but they just seem to be too far off to work.
this is my 5th honda, just my first swap.

should i use the dx or the teg tranny? (this is my daily driver)

There are two sets of holes for the rear mount on the subframe. Try the other set with the integ rear mount. You might have an easier install with the dx tranny if the splines match up but I'm not sure which will be more durable or give the best gas milage in the end. Hope this helps a little.

The 89 teg motor doesnt fit your 88 dx...the mounts are totally different. You want the black top ZC from Japan.

No that's wrong. Don't give out misinformation.
86-89 integra D16a1
Zc is also a D16. They are both 1.6 dseries.

The 90+ integra's are 1.8 Bseries.

To answer your question, no it won't fit without much fabrication. The 86-89 integra motor has different mounting points than any other dseries. Sure, you could bolt up a dx or si tranny, but then you're gonna have problems bolting up the driver's side mount. MAJOR problems...I've seen some idiot try to fit this motor in a Rex....the driver's side mount sat about 8 inches higher than the frame bracket where you slip the bolt through...lol...funny as hell.
He wanted me to finish the swap for him. He told me it was a B16 and I said ok ill do it. I come over and i look at the engine code...D16a1...couldn't stop laughing after that.
Not to mention that the alternator bracket was sitting ON the axle!

alright, but im more than capable to make my own mounts... but what about the rest like the carrier bearing, axels, shift linkage, harness, cluster, any info on the rest of it? is it worth my time, even if i picked the motor up NEW for $100, or should i scrap it all together?
