1/4 mile times

Hello, I know I don't really belong on this forum since I don't own a Subaru, but I was curious to see what you guys are running in the 1/4 mile. I see stock WRX's running 14.8's all the time and rarely see someone who can actually drive it and get 14.2 like they are supposed to be able to get. I don't care if yours is modded, I just want to see some times. I ran a best of 14.01 in my Civic, so I started it off.

Civic what?
Modded?
I can't believe a stock Civic can outrun a WRX(or RS for that matter) unless there is a lot you're not telling us.

a LOT you're not telling us...
14.6... one time ever, bone stock except the cat-back, beautiful launch and miraculously smooth shifting (I can never get mine to shift smoothly).

No it's not stock. I have an LS/Vtec with PR3 pistons and a fuel pressure regulator. The compression was raised from 9.6:1 to 11.5:1. And it was a 1/4 mile and I used my stock steely wheels and shitty tires. I beat most WRX's, but that's not why I came here. I just wanted to see if the guys I've been racing can drive for shit. All I know is my friend beats me all the time in his WRX. Bone stock he got a 14.18 best. Now he ran a 12.87 with stuff done and 301.4whp. And now he hasn't run it but he is making over 350whp now.

Hey ru guys running slicks? Thatr will get you(in a non all wheel drive cars) because that will make your time at least a half second faster if you have a lot of power.

I don't, stock wheels and tires. With slicks I would probably be mid to high 13's.

yah its a pretty good investment if you want to be goin faster. If you are bracket racing it will give you a more consistant time becasue the tires won't be spinning at all if you have the right amount of pressure in the tires.

AWD would *smoke* some people on a 1/8 mile track... they wouldn't have time to catch up from our awesome no-spin launch. The WRX dies about halfway down the track because we don't have the gearing for drag racing (or the RWD to put the power to the asphalt, or the...). We should start posting our 1/8 split-times here so we can brag about how fast our cars are over on the Camaro forums... :)

All I wanted were 1/4 mile times from the people who own WRX's. I have nothing against the cars, I like them and would own one if I could afford it. I have only gooten one 1/4 mile time. Please can people post more.

Well someone posted this site http://www.scoobymile.com/ in one of the other threads. It contains times for all imprezas posted by people with with varying degrees of modifications.

mine ran a 14.8 with 18" rims and tires on it. pretty much stock...catback exhaust, bov, and short-throw shifter...nothing that would give it much more power...yet :) i'm guessing the 18" rims slowed me down a little though. i've heard average times around 14.5-14.6...yet i've read a couple different mag. articles that say it can run 14.1 (corrected).

ran a 14.7 stock and with light mods i run 13.5's pretty consistantly.

Nice, you would deffinatly beat me every time. Finally someone who answers my question. Lets see how many more brave sould there are. Did you ever run any better than a 14.7 stock? It seems to be the norm. How do the magazines always get better times?

Fastest was a 14.7 stock. Magazines get better times by posting corrected times. Corrected times are the times achievable if conditions were absolutely perfect. Fastest time i've had according to those standards would have been at Palmdale at LACR with a 13.7. Corrected it was a 13.4 due to elevation according to the tower.

Thanks for the info. I live right by the beach though, and I usually only see 14.7's stock. I don't know, most the people that have the cars around here are little rich kids whose parents bought their cars for them. They are probably all crappy drivers. I wouldn't mind it if my parents gave me one though. Too bad it could never happen.

It's not the price of the car that kills me, it's the insurance costs. I have a 4 point record. And in California it's 4 points in a year = lose your liscense, 5 in two years = lose your liscense, 6 in three years = lose your liscense. I got 4 in just over a year. My insurance for a WRX would be over $300 a month. While paying for college, it would be too much money to dish out every month. Maybe when my record cleans up I will get one.

I might move to Texas some day. At this point I will never be able to afford property in California, and smog regulations suck. Texas is deffinatly looking mighty good for the future.

Alabama (my home state) = even cheaper, and there are turns in the roads what with the mountains and trees and all...
No offense to the real Texans on here, but I dislike the lack of nature here in Texas. Small hills and scrubby trees and LOTS of cows. My insurance, though, is quite low.

I did 3 runs with a stock WRX at the 1/8th. His ET's were always .1-.2 faster than mine, but my trap speed was always higher. I run 14.7's stock, so he was probably running about the same in the 1/4.
