I have a 92 acura legend that has a unpredictable speedometer. It has recently started jumping around unpredictably. If the cruise control is on, it sometimes will shut it off. The most recent episode was the most violet yet and resulted in the speedometer dropping to zero and the D4 light blinking. When I turned the car off and restarted it, presto it went back to normal. It appears my transmission fluid it at the correct levels. Any ideas? Please don't tell me to buy a manuel. Thats why I'm asking you all.

It sounds like a malfuntion of either the cruise control sensor or the tranny computer...now does problem only occur when the Cruise control is on, or this a problem that occurs at a certain speed..need more info to help you out..thanks!

I'm going through the same thing right now. About a year ago I changed my vehicle speed sensor and got rid of the problem. The part cost about 80.00 dollars from the dealer and I installed it myself. My problem is back though after a year.

This is a very common problem with the 91-95 Legend, it's a malfunctioning circuit in your gauge cluster. A spedo/tach repair shop can fix it for around 180, or you can buy a cluster from a junk yard for about 100...
