Hi, I have a 1990 MK3 Supra Turbo and as of right now I plan on dropping in a 7MGTE JDM motor within the next 3 weeks. I would like to get a 1JZ but I havent been able to locate alot of performance parts for it, which is why I'm leaning towards the new 7MGTE. I have found lots of good parts for the 7M but very very few for the 1JZ. I would like to know if anyone knows where I could get my hands on some good performance parts. I have already found a turbo kit and some internal parts. But if someone could let me know where I could find some more parts, such as Exaust, Fuel system, Transmission upgrades, suspension ugrades, and any miscellaneous parts available. Thanks for all your help.

honestly, I would go with the 1jz swap. The 7m motor is notorious for blowing head gaskets. There are performance parts you can get for the 1jz as well. I can name some places for you if you want and I'm sure that there are several people on here who would be more than happy to help you out. Let me know. Good luck.

I have done the 1JZ swap. There are plenty of parts out there. First the easy stuff. When it comes to suspension there are plenty of options. TRD makes shocks and roll bars. There is a HKS Hypermax coil over kit available for the MKIII. Tien makes a Flex system as well. The 1JZ uses the R154 5 speed. Its the same trans. behind the 7MGTE. As far as exaust goes just get a muffler and generic high flow cat, and take it to your local exaust shop and have them run new pipe all the way back. Use a Flowmaster or Magnaflow unit. They will preform well, and last quite a while. Be careful when buying a cat. I have seen speed shops selling high flow cats for $300+. Don't buy them. You can get a good generic cat for about $70. Going this way the whole system sould come in around $400-$500. I've seen those fancy JDM coffee cans go for that price alone. Unless you are going for looks I just don't think it is worth it. There is a clutch type LSD that was available factory, and a quaife type LSD that was available in the JDM 2.5 R Supra. It goes on and on and on. If you want more send me an email. It helps to know what you will be doing with the car: daily driver, drag, auto cross, etc. Also your budget.

Thanks alot guys for your posts. Regarding what flyin MK4 said, yes I would like to kno of any and all places that you kno for parts. I pln on doing everything I possibly can as far as performance goes. Im not planning on modifying the body and Im just going to put some racing seats and small touch ups in the interior. Its going to be a drag car. My budget is upwards of 15-20k over the next few months. Thats for just parts and shipping, I get free labor b/c I have a friend who owns a shop and we work together and he doesnt charge me anything. Also if you have any idea on fuel upgrades. Thanks alot for your help. :grinyes:

Fuel upgrades I would possibly go with dual MKIV fuel pumps, MKIV pumps push 260 where as the walboro pushes 255. MKIV is the way to go on that unless the MKIII's push the same, not sure on that one. As far as injectors go, your looking in the upward range way past 1000cc's more like probably 16 to 1700, possibly higher, do your research and you'll find what works well for your goal, good luck
