I *always* use synthetic oil in all my cars (HUGE difference in wear and sludge buildup....I work on a lot of cars that use both). Depending on the climate you live in, 5w30 is the most generally acceptable...go with a thinner (0w30) in cold climates, or a 10w30 in hotter ones. I live in Chicago and use the 5w30 all around. My choice of oil is Mobil1, but I would suspect Syntec is comparable....

Mobil 1 5w-30. My first experience with synthetic so I decided to try it since I am changing oil by the DIC. So far about every 9k miles. If I were changing every 3-5k I woukd use dino instead because of price.

I'm getting ready to do an oil change at 1000 miles and then another at 3000 miles.

What is everyones thoughts on changing to Full Synthetic at 3000 miles?

I mentioned it to a guy from work and he seems to think I should wait longer like 6000 or maybe even 9000 miles.

I would think after 3000 miles the engine for the most part is broken in and the rings sealed.

I also 2nd the Mobil1 Synthetic
