Escutcheon / Wiper Switch removal (Cont'd)

Thanks for your help so far!

Question(s): If the wiper switch is spinning while trying to remove the escutcheon, what do I do? Should I use pliers to hold the switch in one position while attempting to remove the escutcheon?

What direction do I use in order spin the escutcheon away from the dash and switch?

The switch must not rotate, use pliers if necessary, the escutcheon turns counter-cloclwise to remove.
