91 rs not startin? VATS?

well ya lol so i started my 91 rs up cause iwas gunna sell it . started right up i drove it on my lawn to put some water in the rad. turned it off , when iturned it back on security light came on , oh ok what ever i waited the 5 minutes it went away(um i have a resistor soddered in so no resistor key) now it seems ok it does the beeeep, but the check engine light is on and the INFL REST , what is that , it doesnt do anything when i try to start it , remember no securityl ight is on , so im not sure what the deal is

the INFL REST is your airbag light
it should blink 8? times, than go off.. is your engine light and INFL REST light staying on??

the impact sensor for the airbags is right infront of the rad.. is it possible you could have bumped it, got it wet, etc?

as far as I know, there is nothing incorporated into the airbag system to stop the car from starting, but you could try removing the SRS fuse, or unhooking your battery for a minute and hooking it back up..

I dont recommend trying to service the SRS system yourself

well ok that makes sense then , i had the air bag out at the time of , stupid ignition lock got stuck had to rip the stearing column apart today , but it still wont start there is NO SECURITY light so i really have no clue whats wrong it seems like its the vats system but light doesnt come on , plus i hear the beeeep , when the security light comes on i dont hear it , i believe

maybe your soldered resistor connection broke loose?

but the stupid security light didnt come on which is weird , but once i got the pellet out and tried to start it the light came on so im not sure

security bulb might be blown AND your resistor fix is FUBAR, so start from point A, and check if the starter is getting juice when the key is turned. If not, re-install new resistors, check the conections and try it again. No idea with the air bag, but you can (when you get it running) get it to the dealership and have them run codes...just a thought...

really quickly i wanna talk about the airbag. the possible reason that the light is on now is that gm put the front sensor by the radiator in a bad place that is susceptable to the elements. water, etc can easily access the sensor and that is what 90% of the time sets off that little light. ive heard multiple instances of this happening, id just try rippin a sensor off a j/y camaro and try that (if it didnt get fubar also) or buy a new one and caulk the hell out of it. as for it not starting, the airbag should have nothing to do with it as my light has been on forever due to my lazyness and its fine. airbag just wont pop... make sure bulb didnt blow, and resistor is still in place. could also be a faulty neutral safety switch. if the security light isnt coming on tho vats isnt the problem provided the light works. id check the neutral safety switch and also test the starter. my other camaro did same thing without the vats and it turned out starter was toast..... just a cupple thoughts good luck

mine comes on and will not start i was dogging my camaro then took a corner and it started jerking back and forward and died then the infl light turned on for the first time how can i fix
