Whats the worst christmas gift you got?
I got socks and a chocolate bar one year (we were going threw tough times and i was a hooligan when i was younger)
When i was like 5 my dad got me a VCR.... cause we didnt have one, so it was basically for all of us. It was aright then i was happy, but when i think about now, he basically bought it for himself lol I think he gave me a ninja turtles video with it or something
and nothing when my parents pay for my plane tickets to visit fam in europe

When I 14 I was lucky enough to witness an accident in which someone I cared alot for died in front of me, but that was Dec. 24th around 10:30 in the morning. Does that count?

Last year my parents gave me a check for a $1000. So I was like awesome but when I wanted to cash it a month later, they said no it was a joke. Cause thats real funny!! I didnt get anything from them that year except like socks and a mach3.

Personally, I don't think that I have a "worst" christmas gift. I'm the type of person who gets more joy out of giving someone a present than receiving one. I appreciate anything that someone gives me because it just shows that they put thought into getting me something. I'm not saying that you all don't feel like this or saying that you're selfish, but to see the smile on someone's face opening a present gives me just as much joy as receiving a present...Even if it isnt something I want.

the last day of school before christmas vacation, we had an gift exchange at my school, for some reason my name was not in it, so when it came time to exchange gifts I heard everybodys names called except mine, being only 9 yrs old I wanted to cry but, I I didn't, at the end my teacher went out and got my some cool transformer cars and she apologized.

You should have gone ahead and cashed it.

Just about the same here. I mean I have everything I want. A nice size portfolio, a few thousand dollards saved up for a race car (don't know what I'm getting yet, leaning towards an mr2), a good daily driver (my 91 crx, 38mpg, pretty fast, $70/month insurance). So I'm not looking at getting much, I like things that I worked for. I wouldn't even feel right about accepting an expensive gift from my parents. Oh and did I mention I'm 18?

no complaints here, not that I always got what I wanted, but I'm happy with anything I get b/c it's something I didn't have before.

There was one occasion I remember as a little kid being less than happy....I got black nylon socks from my grandmother.......
I feel embarrased about that now, because I was spoiled and selfish. I see there are about a billion more important things in life than this subject.

its not selfish at all.. some times you get good gifts, sometimes you get bad gifts, sometimes you dont get any at all. Just share your experiences
I love my parents more than anything... I dont care if they gave me some shitty gifts, i laughed about it.
You're prolly saying its selfish cause you always got nice shit that you wanted... so its the "thought" that counts
When you're like 7 years old and other kids are getting nintendos and shit like that and you get socks and a chocolate bar... come holla at me.

Doesn't matter what you get it's the thought that counts, no such thing as a shitty gift you damn well know anyone who gives a gift puts a certain amount of thought into it. Who cares what other kids got, I'm sure there was always someone else who got less than you always look to the downside of things makes you realize you have more than you once thought.

omg... i swear everyone that says this always got nice things.
there IS such thing as shitty gifts, doesnt mean you dont like/love the person any less. Its the thought that counts... but that doesnt mean the gift wasnt shitty!

No such thing as a shitty gift, just a shitty recipient :icon16:
And no just I've gotten gifts that hey maybe never got used or I didn't care for them, doesn't mean they are shitty. Hows about if you do get a shitty gift this year tell whoever gave it to you, to go fuck themselves and how dare they give you such a shitty gift...see no such thing as a shitty gift. Just the recipient.

I once got a Christmas-themed coat-hook, I shit you not. I was pissed because there was evidently no thought that went into the gift.
Otherwise, I applaud most peoples gift efforts, so long as people put effort in (Because I'll be damned if I don't have a pain of a time Christmas shopping)

My mom used to let me open up an early christmas present the day before christmas, because she would have a pile from 'mom and dad' and then in the morning she would bring down the 'santa' pile.. so i got to choose one present from the mom and dad pile.. and i picked underwear the one year. it kinda sucked too

We exchanged gifts at work last year and a lady gave me one of those cheap butane lighters, the one's that have a 1/2 inch torch flame. Well...the button to light it was right next to where the flame came out. Now, I agree, it the thought that counts, but I had a blister on my thumb for three days, that gift just sucked ass.

See i'm not saying i'd be mad at the person or like them any less. But you have to admit the fact that socks for a 7 year old IS a shitty gift

Nobody would ever say that, but shitty gifts do exist. Sometimes there is thought, but it's misled. Say you got something that you just had no use or interest or liking, would you consider it a shitty gift keeping in mind that although the person tried, they did the worst possible job?
Too many people think world is nothing but sunshines and smiles, it's not, but that dosen't mean you have to be unhappy about it.
