my 96 passport recently, with no real warning, lost all the lights on the dashboard, including the temp control and shift lights. The only change i have made was i installed a stereo about a month before. I checked all of the fuses and still nothing. any suggestions?

I have a 94 Isuzu Rodeo LS, recently, I too pulled ou the stock Pioneer Tape Player, which was hooked to a CD changer in the rear. After pulling that deck out, the dash lights will not work. The dash, along with the heater/ac controls will not illuminate. I did notice on the back of the wiring harness, there's an orange illlumination wire that is not hooked to anything, any advice? Please respond. I called Isuzu, they said I could come in, but it will cost me 85 dollars to have a diagnostic done.....Please help, any advice would be appreciated!

do not hook up the illumination wire. if you use the wrong polarity you can pop fuses and burn wires. its too risky for what it worth. the cd player will work fine w/o illumination
