i was wondering if anyone here has used JEGS brand exhaust system. i guess they have turbo mufflers (whatever they are). are they anything like flowmasters? the system for a 2nd gen camaro is a good price, as where flowmaster is a bit high. does anyone knnow anything about them and how they sound?

a turbo muffler is just another way of saying straight-through design, or glass pack, is my understanding.

personally, i dont like flowmaster. if you want good sound than go for flowmaster, but if you want straight exhaust flow improvement i would get something with a straight-through design. flowmasters are designed to improve the sound of exhaust, but if you look at how they are made than you can see that flow is not improved that much...

so what is better in the long run? a straight through design with less back pressure? i thought its bad to have no back pressure, i have open pipes on my mustang and it sucks ass

the only problem the jegs' exhaust systems is the quality of the pipes. they sound cool but they dont hold up. i bought an exhaust kit that was supposed to be alumized inside and out, and within a month the pipes rusted and look like shit. my neighbor bought a flowmaster kit for his camaro and it's been on his car for over a year now, and the pipes are still as shiny they day he put em on. ya get what you pay for.

if you have open pipes on the v-6 mustang than i understand why it sucks ass. granted im no mustang expert, but i know that the camaro sixers rely on low-end torque to get the cars moving. you drop the backpressure too much and you lose that low-end torque...
