Seriously.
It was having some problems, which included the fact that it still needed new axles, clutch, and was starting to leak anti-freeze from somewhere under. Not to mention the stereo hasn't worked since it was broken into last year, and the paint is horribly fading.
Don't really care about the looks part...just makes it sweeter when I beat much more expensive, and good-looking cars.
But...
...the dealership I bought the car from a couple of years ago, offered to take the car off my hands, and offered an ok car, with good payments in return.
So...
...I am now playing family-man for real, with my 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue GL. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/sly.gif
It's really stacked, and feature-laden, but DAMN...I need to watch myself, and remember that the car is not NEARLY as nimble as my SE-R in traffic...http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/mad.gif There were other cars available, but my insurance was going to jump up 100 dollars a month...considering I was jumping from a 1992 Sentra. With the Olds, it only jumped 40 bucks.
Oh well...I have the option to trade-in this car in a year.
No more "fun" for a while. :(

Sorry to hear that man... I know you and I talked about that on the phone. I'm suprised it lasted that long. It was like? 2-3 months since we talked?... Go Nissan
You'll get something cool again, knowing your car ownership history.. you will.

You should go for a used current gen SE-R for your next car...that would be tight. I almost got one, the V Spec model, but the insurance was a we bit high on it. Then someone with a turboed one flew by me, and I currsed myslef for not getting it, lol. DOnt worry, I'm sure with enough work, you can find a few cars out there to beat. I think they have a supercharger for them? Hint hint...

hey, keep this one, put a custom turbo or supercharger on it, and become the real grocery getter from hell :))

Yeah, you could get a supercharger if it's a 3.8L engine. It can be the equivalent of a Grand Prix GTP, like 240 hp.

the 3800 supercharged with the M62 Eaton blow is amazing. I wish i had the money to buy one of those. That supercharger actually has an electronically controlled wastage on it. Alot of people see high 13's with very few mods.

well considering the last thread that EVO MR would look more like an 05 STI.
So what about that carrrnuttt? An STI would be one heck of a car.

well that car might work for you and me, but carrrnuttt is a family man. He needs for doors, nice comfy ride and warranty. The STI would give him all that and still be a fun ride.

So you gonna go with a project car/weekend racer then? Then an Mr2 would fit the bill. I'm actually considering one too mid engine, light, RWD, turbo....what is not to like.
PS. Are you sure miss carrrnuttt will aprove though?

MR2s are great cars ... but if you are refering to the 2nd gen, I would not call them "light." :D
2800-3050 lbs stock is fairly tubby if you ask me (for the size of the car).

Carrrnuttt...I'll sell you my car. It's fricken fast. Much much much faster than my old Spec V. Plus that 6 speed tranny in the Spec V is worthless. The fastest SE-Rs are the 5 speed non Spec V ones. If you ever did go that route and wanted to mod steer clear of the Spec V.

that sucks i really didn't have a clue on how fast a B13 SE-R is until i've read about yours in action. its amazing. well i guess you gotta drive around in the oldsmobile and kill some civics with it. heh
but yeah maybe you should step up a notch on your next car. something with RWD and turbo. hehe

Thanks Neutrino.
And Carrrnutt...before the Spec V I drove a '90 Buick Park Avenue w/almost 300k miles. It ain't all bad. Driving a car that screams AARP has it advantages. Cops never give you a second look plus it feels like you're riding on your own personal cloud. I personally think it's a good change of pace. When I drive my mom's Buick Regal now I sorta enjoy it. I notice myself driving slower and being less concerned with always getting around slow drivers or getting even with people that cut me off. I dunno. Maybe it's just me, but comfy cars make for a more relaxing drive.
