cd player - cd changer compatibility

I just bought a Kenwood cd player (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-GB4Gfoi2brs/cgi-bin/prodview.asp?i=113MP225)to replace my old JVC. My cd changer is also JVC, but I want to keep using it. Problem is, the cable ends are different for JVC and Kenwood. Tech guy at BestBuy said that I couldn't use the changer anymore once I install the Kenwood. Is there not an adapter or something to put on the old changer cable that would allow me to hook the JVC changer to my new cd player? I figured there might be some sort of adapter with the JVC female connection on one end and Kenwood male connection on the other. I haven't looked at the other end of the cable to see if it is connected inside the changer or if it is just a plug-in cable.

There 'may' be a 3rd party adapter floating around somewhere, but it's doubtful. If you can't find one, you're probably SOL. Manufacturer's make their products proprietary for a reason ($). :)

the sound part may work .... but the head unit will not be able to control the changer. They all use a proprietary buss for signal control. In computer terms ..... it would be like one is running PCI, another ISA, and yet another USB - all incompatible
