Hi,
I have a '94 Jeep Cherokee, and a year ago I installed a CD player. Ever since then, my guages don't light up, but everything does. I think I screwed up the wiring of the lighting, and I need to buy new wires for the dashboard lighting. I don't know what kind of wires i need though, does anyone know which wires would work?
Thanks a lot,
Matt

Hi Matt!
What makes you think you need new wires, are the old ones burned or ripped out? Odds are you just lost the connection between your guage lights and the rest of your dash. Did your CD player have a connection to the dash lights? I would just go back in and check all your connection points for the CD player, then work out from there. Could be just as simple as a plug pulled out or a broken wire.
If you do find a broken or burned wire that needs repaired, any 18-20 AWG wire should be fine.

Matt,
I have a horrible habit of changing radios about twice a year. The first time I did it the air control console stopped working, and some lights on the dash were out. Make sure the wires are still plugged in, sometimes when you push the radio in it will catch the harness and pull it out.
