I remember a testerossa rebody kit advertised in the late nineties. I can't remember the name of the company, but I'll look around for it. Kit Car Illustrated used to run an advertisement for it. Seems like it was around $3500.oo for the body panels. Saw this link for a kit built around a 3rd gen firebird:

Yeah I was looking to buy that kit in that link...I emailed them and they wanted $15,000 for all the body parts, or $25,000 if you send them your car for them to do it. It is hot as hell though, i'd do that instead of buying a new car.

the reason i asked i saw a car in town looked just like a testorossa, i saw the owner, and i complemented on how the car looked and that i had never seen one up close or never been near one, he said get in it, the door opened upwards and i sat down and too my surprise it had firebird interior, also there was a hopped up ls1 under the hood and a six speed, he said the car was built for
150 hp shot of nos, and the engine alone was good for 435 rwhp, he took me for a ride in it and that thing was scary fast. he said that he built it out of an 87 formula firebird. im still amazed by its beuty and power.
