Hey You Rotary Heads!
I am going to buy a Racing Beat Header (Road Race Header) for my Bro for X-Mas... however I am a little confused about the applications! It says it is for a Six Port 13B only. My brother has a 1986 Rx7 NA with a 13B (not sure on the trim... but it's 4-lug and has manual roll ups. GSL???) and that's all I know! Can someone help me out? Thanks!

6 ports are all n/a 13b factory engines produced from 84 to 92, the header will fit.
be sure to choose the good outlet, does he have full double exhaust or is it like stock ? roadrace headers are for true duals and street headers are for single lines.

He has the APEX'i N1 muffler (single-pipe and single-out). I'm guessing I shouldn't buy this header since you mentioned "roadrace headers are for true duals and street headers are for single lines" ??? And what do you mean 'good outlet'? If anyone has any suggestions on a good header to purchase I would appreciate it also!

Just the standard racing beat header will be good.

This is for "single" exhaust (not true dual). You might want to look into the midpipe and presilencer too.

Cool. Thanks! Is that the best header to get then? I also found this one:http://www.racingbeat.com/resultset.asp?PartNumber=16127 How's that one? No good either? I just want the best bang for my buck. This was the original one I was gonna get... http://www.racingbeat.com/resultset.asp?PartNumber=16128

the outlet is the way the exhaust is getting out of the header pipe. your brother's car's exhaust line is single, therefore, you dont want a roadrace header since it has two outlet.

So the standard one it is...
Thanks guys! You were much help! I probably would have gotten the wrong one and that would have sucked! Thanks again!
Oh... BTW: Rx7's actually came 'dual' exhaust? Or is that a mod? My brothers stock exhaust was on both sides.. giving it a 'dual' apperance... but was from a single pipe. The N1 exhaust eliminated the 'dual' apperance... I'm a little confused.

And I belive the road race header doen't have the hole to put your 02 sensor so you would have to make custom work to make an 02 sensor fit in that header.

does an 02 sensor has to calculate both rotor chambers exhaust composition ??

yup
well, as much as it can, since its in the DP ,they mix together . so, if one was real rich, and one was real lean, they would kinda even each other out.

would that happen to be used oil? lol
and yes they are dual exhaust stock(with a y-pipe) and they can be run with a single exhaust, but it seems like the most popular way is to go true dual, which is also good for performance

i don't think is gonna be a good idea if you get the road race header , because you need an O2 sensor to be connected, you need a some sort of collector header to 02 header can read both rotors mixtures.
