While driving, usually on slow down, the engine stalls out. I have to stop shut the key off and wait a minute, and it starts back up. Luckily it allways starts, but this may happen a half dozen times. It seems to happen the most in a start stop city enviroment the most. I've replaced a good many parts only to still have this problem. I would love to solve it and be done with it.

Have you read the codes from the computer to see if a part is throwing out an error code when this happens?

Make sure your battery cables are on tight. They could be loose.
Good Luck

The codes that came up the first time indicated a bad egr, evr, and lower left oxigen sensor, which I replaced them all, only to not have any more codes. the problem still was there. I've also replaced the fuel sending unit, new coil pack, wires, and plugs.

make sure all your vacuum lines are attached, and possibly your engine is idling to slow.

Not too sure how engines vary from car to car but, under the hood on the drivers side towards the back of the engine, check to see if those vacuum lines are hooked up.

Someone told me it maybe the fuel pump relay, so I changed it about a week and a half ago, so far it has not quit, I'm keeping my fingers crossed, will let everyone know the out come.

Just wanted to let everyone know that since the relay has been replaced, the explorer has been running without quiting once since. It seems as the problem has been solved. I hope someone else can reap the benifits of this. It was a $4.95 relay, I could have saved hundreds. Thanks to all
