Just got the model today and started it. Its part of Revell's 2 'n 1 Tuner Series, I think its one of the latest ones. Heres the model picture....
http://www.poopface.net/models/Honda/Civic/images/progress/civic_01.jpg

Now for my progress, I opened it up and decided what bumpers I would use and then found that the fitment is off on both. The front is off one both sides and the rear, just on the passengers side. I'll solve that later as for now all I did was cut out the vents on the front and start fixing the back bumper. Heres a couple pics......

It is definatley gonna stay wingless, I hate wings on civics.

Cool, I guess we have the same interests or it could be just a coincidence?

Nice so far. We both have the same project, my major problem with this kit is the headlight (there's a disgusting pin in the middle!!!) don't have any solutions to that problem at the moment.

Keep us posted! :)

That pin in the headlight sucks. It makes the headlights look so fake. I don't know what Im going to do yet.

Little update, I got the engine completely done, header and intake manifold. I started making the suspension. I'll have pictures tomorrow because the glues not dry yet.

It was one of the 2004 releases and this is the only one I have seen. Unfortunatley it has no turbo and no stock bumpers. :( I was going to try and scatch build a stock front, but I dont think my skills are good enough yet.

It's been out for a while; I built one a while ago. You can find it on my website if interested. A stock option isn't possible unless you want to do some major mods.:)

I like the headlights on your '93 revell civic Tonio, nice modification, but I think it's a lot of work and courage to do that on a clear plastic (headlights). Is it hard?

tonioseven

Not really hard but having a multi-speed Dremel really helped out!!

I use a Tamiya Electric Handy Router, Is it good enough? I use it on my '93 Civic to grind the front and rear bumpers to to make it fit perfectly. Can you teach us Tonio? :)

 I just clipped the stub/prong/stem with a nail clipper then with the tool on the slowest setting and the grinding bit installed, VERY carefully ground the remaining piece off until it looked like a regular lens then dipped it into a bit of Future floor polish and let it dry. I did the same for the rear lenses as well. I then added small pieces of Bare Metal Foil Ultra-Bright Chrome to the areas with the holes on the light bucket; that's it!:) Good luck with it!!

Heres another quick update for anyone thats been waiting. Well I messed up the back bumper and I had to order a replacement from Revell. I need to get some primer before I start to paint the body. I did some flocking on the interior and I think it looks pretty good for my first time. Also the engine bay is red, so of course the car is going to be red. I still have to add the battery wire, fuel line, and radiator hoses. Anyway here is the pics.

Nice headlights man, and the engine bay looks nice :)

Thanks. I worked hard painting it, I use to be such a bad painter. I have amazed myself with this car. The engine bays not quite finished yet, I've got a couple more things to add to it.

The flocking looks good!

Thanks, I think I did pretty good for my first try at it.

Chrome parts are hard to paint man, so I remove it using Dot3 brake fluid and some Isopropyl Alcohol.:)

Yeah they are, I learned that on my last models, but on this one I Removed the chrome. I used bleach though, it works pretty good I think.

here's a tip,
After sanding the headlights with used 2000 grit sandpaper, spray it with tamiya TS-13 clear (It will Miraculously remove the fog on the headlights) It works on my '93 civic man. Hope this helps. :) If you want some sample pics I'll post some. :)

really, I might have to by some of that clear then. Could I get a couple pics? just to see how good it looks.

Follow up.

1)Sand the entire front (outer part of h.lights)using a USED 2000 grit sand paper. (to remove the tiny sink hole in the middle)

2)Grind the inner part of the headlights PARTIALLY (see bottom picture for reference) don't sand and grind the entire inner part, coz it would look funny:grinno::screwy::headshake
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/256020grind_this-med.jpg
3)Wash the headlights first with mild soap and water before spraying then let it dry.

4)Spray it with Tamiya TS-13 clear to remove the ugly fog. (apply thin coats of clear and don't overspray and make sure that you don't spray on a cold weather)
Goodluck :smooch:

I had a pretty hard time puttying the trunk holes on my civic (mine kept on sinking and sinking after I sprayed it with Mr. Surfacer1000).WOW!!! I really like the Idea of the "no sunroof" nice job!! on this :):) :) :) :) :)

How did you cover the sunroof? did you put some styrene sheets on the sunroof to cover it up? I'm planning to do this on my next project "Civic Si"

NOMADGAMER

wow that sunroof delete mod looks very very good.

i might try that on my civic aswell, i agree no sroof or wing makes it look mint

glacier985
12-30-2004, 01:44 AM
I just cut the sunroof out of the windows and glued it in place and then covered it with putty and sanded it. I also had the problem of my holes sinking when removing the spoiler.
