Can someone help me with a 89 blaz that is acting as if the alt. is dead and killing the battery. The truck buzzes when the dash lights are on and the gas-oil-and temp are dead day or night. It just happened to this one and is very much like a problem with my last blazer but my gas and oil worked during the daylight hours in that truck. I`ve allready replaced the alt. and the battery but she still does it-anyone have any ideas or has seen this before? Plus does anyone have a page for 4wd actuator replacement/testing the could suggest. Thanks Hecksterz

Does it only happen when you put the headlight switch on?, or does it happen all the time (the buzzing)?.

Only when you put the parking light switch on which eluminates the dash-the headlight switch by itself does not set it off-however the guages are out now constant.

Have you checked the fuse for the guages?

Have you checked your grounds under the dash?

Quirkey -I just posted last night about troubling short problems -on my second blazer this one a 89 -last was a 86. Both developed short problems -the old one went to the scrap yard with it`s problem as I never could figure it out. It would jump the guages everywhere and pop the dome light -finally had to run at night with the dimmer off and no guages but wouldn`t drain the battery -weird. The 89 I just figured out today-it buzzed as battery wasn`t charging and killed the gas/oil/temp guages and blew the dome. Turns out the stock radio is somehow shorted and when the radio fuse is removed everything returns to normal-to bad I spent 100$ on a new alt before I figured it out. Thanks for the help guys!!
