I have been a Sirius customer for about 8 months and I love it. The variety of stations is amazing. I basically don't even carry any cd's in my car anymore, I only listen to sirius. I would highly recomend sirius to anyone.

I am also in the market for satalite radio and hear good things about all choices. My boss has Sirius, I like it but XM signed a contracket with Opie And Anthony, But Sirus has Howared.

i SELL sirious radio, so i know a few things about 'em. the best ones, imo, are a seperate unit that can be moved from the car to the house (for home listining, or just anti-theft). they use a cradle, and can connect to the stereo either via wired, or a wireless FM modulator... and the modulator sounds GOOD.
as far as for service goes... it rocks. no matter wither you listen to bluegrass, classic rock, country, or classical, it's got at least one station for everyone. yes, they will have Howard Stern (i'm not a fan at all but i understand some people are), at no extra charge.
one of the weee nasty little things i've heard XM does is that they charge extra for some shows- everything's included with Sirius.
for us high-bandwidth monkeys, if you have the Sirius service, you also get all the stations FREE off of their streaming site. now THAT's nice.
do yourself a favor, and drop the 500 bucks for the lifetime service. best deal. other then that, 12.95 a month, and if you get a 1-yr or 2-yr service, you get a couple months free.

I have been a Sirius Customer for about a month now and i have one of the here to anywhere units which is like the older portable ones. My only advice is to not get the lifetime membership. Although u may plan on being a member for a long time in the fine print of the owners manual it says that to change whicch reciever your membership is valid for they will charge you 75 bucks, with how quickly technology in this field is expanding you may not want to force yourself to be set on one receiver for very long...besides that sirius rocks

... the only thing i can think of that the current generation of sirius receivers lacks is a digital SPDIF/ Fibre Optic output. other then that, they're already full-featured, so the only reason to change recievers would be if you broke one.

My rents have (may have gotten rid of it, not sure) and they loved it. When they drove around in the city, it'd cut out a little bit every once and a while, or when they went under a bridge. Not sure if it was because they had the antenna setup wrong or not. But I get a bunch of their music stations on my TV thru Dish Network for free, and I'm definently impressed with the choice of music they play on it. They play better music on it than any of the local radio station. Old School rap station :bigthumb:

the reason why i would change recievers is because i currently have that portable one that uses a cradle. In my new car i wont want to have it sticking out looking so tacky and so im just gunna get a sirius ready head unit and the tuner and mount the tuner under the seat, id hate to pay another 75 bucks

ahh. see, i (and most people i've talked to) LIKE the reciever with the docking cradles, because it allows you to keep your current head unit, remove the serious for security, and use it in the house or on the boombox too... i like that. i dunno what your reciever looks like, but the ones we carry now actually look pretty decent.

I have XM and it is great. The sirus is 12.95 a month and the XM is 9.95 a month. The only thing XM charges extra for is the Playboy channel, and it is 2.95 a month so you are looking at about the same price if you want the Playboy channel. The sound quality is outstanding. I have the XM commander it is pretty small and stylish looking, does not stick out like a sore thumb. Also my TL has an input for a CD changer ( don't really understand why b/c it has a 6 disc indash cd player :screwy:) and I found a company that makes a harness for the commander that plugs into the back of my factory Bose head unit and it gets the power from the radio and also delivers the signal through the the plug as well. The harness is called a blitz-safe and it will save you from having to find a power wire, ground spot and ignition wire, it is all done with the plug in the back of the radio. I know that they also make a harness for my integra as well, so if you end up thinking about XM look into the commander and the blitz-safe connector. Also here is a link to possibly some more helpful information on XM. click (http://www.xm411.com/phpbb/index.php?sid=824140bb41478e091005511f742c9a6c)

i've got a thingie somewhere that says it, i can't find it now...
XM charges for streaming radio, for playboy, and for some of the talk shows they offer... sirius has it all included in the price. they're both good services, but i kinda like sirius' selection of channels better, in terms of genre and news.
as far as the equipment goes, that is the manufacturer who makes the stuff, not the provider of service, who decides interface and design. there are a bunch of different style systems for both providers.
meh, it's a lot like dish vs. directv, they're both pretty decent providers, it's who has what that you want/like.
