Is it my Tranny or Rear End Gears?

I have no idea whats going on.. The car started good, no engine lights, nothing... But when I put the shift in gear.. any gears.. as soon I hit alittle gas.. the same speed as you're pushing the car.. I can hear and feel like a click noise.. sounds like its my rear end.. but at the same time I don't have over drive gear anymore.. lost it right there.. whats going on?

sounds like its time for a tranny rebuild.. that clicking will eventually turn in to knocking, into grinding, than the car just wont want to go/shift at all.. drain the fluid and pull the tranny pan off.. check your fluid to see if its burnt... When it happened to my car, I found little (and big) chunks of metal in the bottem of the pan..

How in the world can you rebuild transmission lol.. yikes i will need a good instruction of how to rebuild it.

if you dont know.....i wouldnt try it yourself.....unless you either have someone that does know with you or a manual or something.

yeah im with korndog.. I wouldnt suggest doing it yourself..
You can buy some pretty decent tranny rebuild manuals w/ pictures.. but auto trannys are quite complicated..

will the trans not shift into overdrive at all? it just stays in 3rd?

well i will have to take a look at the tranny pan and see what it is.. but overdrive is whats missing cuz i spin my tires while i was testing to see what exactly it is.. and i lost it right there oops lol

when you say, its missing.. it just stays in third gear right??

it can go 1 to 3 gears.. the overdrive is out cuz its the gear i was using it

but still when i put the gear in 1st.. it still makes noise.. sounds like drain, stuck, click, looks like my drive shaft .. one of my 4 joints must of came off..man its confusing.. 1st gear.. it drive, it skip like my rear end is busted in cycle

Ewww Cawka. I had similar , small peices though like slivers when I had mine rebuilt. Mine didn't click or grind or anything just lagged for about 3 seconds before shifting from P to R or 1-2-3-D-OD , etc.

Doing a stall burn out is insanely stupid for automatic vehicles. They weren't designed for that nor will a stock tranny hold up to it. Especially in OD. Bad bad idea..Quickest way to blow a tranny is that way. I know from experience...stupid S-10 blazer....

Well stupid me for doing that in first place.. I hope I didn't damage it to much .. wasn't smart idea for me to spin my tires while i was checkin to see if its my rear end or is it my tranny, its the only way i can put my head down underneath my car to check.. or else ill be driving and can't check on it the same time u know? lol

Next time just try putting it up on jack stands , all four points so it's balanced , throw some blocks on the sub frame mid car ( about end of doors ) to keep her stabalized and then just pop it into drive and let her idle spin. Much much easier on the vehicle and you can still check what you need to.

thats if i have it with me.. it happen downtown and hadda make sure its that so i can look for a good excuse to call the tow truck .. or else the hondas gonna throw the nos at me u know?

Honda will need nos to keep up..unless it's a S2000..I was shamed by one unfortunately..smoked me so friggin fast. We were on the free way , Rolling on about 75MPH , Gunned , both of us - took her up to 110 in no time really but he constantly was inching forward , by the time I hit around 125 He was about 5 cars in front of me..pissed me off..No civic or accord though could wipe out a Camaro.I wipe my assxhaust with them =D

I tell ya.. I could get them with my fuel injector 5.7 Tune Port.. I amazed the RX-7 Madaza..I drove down in the city out of the edge where theres a road that people do race there.. I race that dude, he got a I-4.. turbo, fast.. with his brother comin along of his honda..beat him barely at the end.. but they lost their power steering by then lol

I love toying with some of the imports especially Hondas and Acuras. I like some Hondas for what they are worth but most = crap and people make them look even worse. with stupid wings and stickers so I use that as a chance to show them XR racing stickers don't give them more torque or power and show them how puny and weak they really are. It would suck if my camaro's power steering went out...I would be f**** especially wih Z rated extra wides 16's. man...I remember when my old skool prelude broke a belt , that was a puny car though and it was hard as hell to turn. can't even imagine..

yeah i know.. he got his car towed

it's only a 700r4 right whats so hard about a rebuild lol
