Yep, another 69 camaro, but this time im recreating the camaro in my garage. My dad bought his new in 1969, and only drove it for a year, then parked it (almost got hit, so he bought a 73 nova to drive for everyday) ANYWAYS the car came without the Indy Pcae Car sticker on the side, it was an option. He put on Cragar S/S rims on it, so I recently purcahsed those from towerhobbies.
I painted on the black carpet

It must be the angle or something, because this picture makes it looked worped?

I have one problem, I haveno idea how im going to do the stripes. The kit came iwth white and black stripes, and the stripes on the car are orange. I fought some orange stripes for a 1/24 69 Camaro, but they are more brown then orange, so I dont want to use them. Any body know where I can buy orange stripes and orange pinstripes?
Also, the stripes that come with the kit have no extra for the cowl, how is it that it covers the cowl induction scoop and keeps a straight line? Does it stretch?
I need to get glue for the windows, thats why i started on this model.

you might try to use the decals for the stripes in the kit as templates. mask of the stripes then paint them orange. light coats until its dark enough, and then clear and it should look great

how about the pinstripes tho? Around each stripe is a pinstripe, and on the fenders there are pinstripes too. I have 1/16th inch masking tape, but that isnt even small enough.

i've done pinstripe with masking both sides of the strip off. its tedious. but i got it to work.
EDIT: you might also try and contact an aftermarket decal company

Another Question: I sprayed to much paint onto the seats on dashboard, because of scratches and such i layered it on 2 or 3 times, and the orange is engine paint (chevy orange) so it goes on thick. Anyways, I plan on using CSC to remove it, such they are small parts, how exactly should i go by this (I read the faq, it said to let it soak for 4 hours).
/edit and this method does no harm to the model whatsoever? If it does, am i better off just ordering replacement seats and dash? D:

Brake fluid and oven cleaner, I've heard, won't damage the plastic. I've used brake fluid with good results. You might try looking for some actual model paint in a lighter orange, the Z11 seats weren't that red and you'll have better results than with engine paint.

Its the light that makes it look that red, the color is actually a bright orange. I basicly took chevy orange engine paint, and used that.

A quick tip for soaking small parts:
I have an old "tea-ball" that I put the parts in and then soak in a bath of CSC. You can get them in the kitchen goods area of any department store (or possibly even grocery stores).
Here's a pic of one in case you're not sure what I'm talking about:

Revell offered the '69 Camaro as a convertible Pace Car with all the correct decals, including the orange stripes and even the houndstooth pattern for the seats. Get the decal sheet from one of those kits and you'll be set. - Mark

Any idea how?
Or I guess if someone had the model kit # and the Part # for the stripes and decals, that would work too.

There is a guy, Keith Marks, that makes a bunch of decals sets. You can ask him if this (1969 Camaro (http://public.fotki.com/mofobow/chevy/camaro/69_camaro_z28/)) set is available in orange. You can contact him at [email protected] .
Anywho, great progress on your Camaro. The chassis paint looks awesome. Get some pictures of the car in your garage. :)

Tonight, when I get home from work, if my package arived (A product that claims it will remove paint all the way to the primer without damaging the product or primer), I will strip the paint, and repaint the seats and dashboard. Once thats done, tomorrow Ill put in the seats and apply the houndstooth decals, all the decals for the dash board, and Assemble the interior, and post shots.

An update: Chasis is done, engine and radiator are mounted, rear axle and exhast, all that stuff. Pics to come later tonight.
One thing I have a question is that I bought custom rims and tires, but mounting them is going to be a pain, ill post pics of them, and pics of the hardware i got with those.
Oh yeah, interior is done as well, with the exception of one seat.
I made the mistake of painting the seats before I glued them together, so of course some glue oozed out, no big deal. I scrped it off, and repainted it. Fate have it, it was to heavy of a coat and it cracked. So what I did is buy this peal off stuff, and that mealted one seat, and I used DOT3 on the other and it turned out fine. So I ordered another seat and when it comes, Ill finish the interior.
Primer is also going on the body.

The interior and the chasis. The hounds tooth are on the seats, and Im waiting for my replacement seat to come. What happened was my dad sprayed it will "Peel It" to try and remove the paint, and it melted the seat. I used brake fluid on the other one, and it came out fine.
