Timing Belt

i have a 1995 325i and i just hit 60k miles on it and i've read that you should change your timing belt at around 50k-60k miles, but i've heard people say that they don't even put timing belts in a 95's so i'm not sure what to do.

Well figure out if its a belt or a chain. Im not 100% sure so i dont wana give you the wrong info.

the m50 in your car has a timing belt.

i think that you dont have to change the chain for much longer than that, and maybe not at all under normal conditions, but again, i am not sure at all.

i am sure tho that the interval of 60k miles is for the M20 engine in the previous 3er, which featured a timing belt

According to BMW 3 Series: Enthusiast's Companion book I was looking thru today the E36 M50 has a chain...

chain on m50, belt on m20. last m20 was 92 i believe.

i meant a chain with tensioners, not a belt!

95 has a chain and you do not have to change it...
