It means your oil pressure is low. Stop driving the car before you find out what the problem is. Let it sit for a few hours (preferably overnight), then check the oil again after all of it has drained into your oil pan. You may find that you're low on oil...
It makes sense that the light would go off when you step on the gas because the oil pump sprocket is driver by the timing belt, rpm related.

Hmm....maybe your sending unit is bad? Better safe than sorry, in any case. I would double check the oil level after the car has been sitting a while.

do you know what kind and weight of oil they used? if they used to light of oil that could also make your oil pressure low

i think they used quaker state. but ill check the oil in a while. see if thats causing it. is it bad to mix oils? like if i add pennzoil instead of quaker state.

Ya, Quaker State lasts for about a 1000 miles before it gets all sh*tty. Does the car have a light that comes on after 3000 miles to warn you to change the oil?

no it doesnt have a light like that. i just checked the oil and its fine. its at like max or something. what would cause it to come on? little oil? too much? something in the oil? im just stumped?

Oil light comes on at low pressure, I want to say about 5-6 psi. Spec is 11-22 psi at idle. If you take it the dealer or a shop they should be able to put a guage on it and see what it is. HAppened to me once and it was in spec, so that meant the sender was bad. 20 bucks later I was all done. If your car is turbo check the oil cooler as well. Its common to lose a motor after an oil change becuase the cooler cam loose when they change the filter. People really need to start putting what car they drive in the sig...

The oil pressure sending unit if that's faulty. If your oil pressure is good when the dealership checks it, then it is the sending unit.
Sounds like this is the case, since you seem sure you're full on oil. You would be seeing oil under your engine or on the driveway if you had a major leak, as well.

Clever one liners like that are all over the internet, may or not reflect what you actually drive. ;) It's better than nothing though I guess. :)
