wiring neons

can someone help me out and tell me how to wire neons from under the driver and passenger dash to a switch? I heard the best way is to hook it up through the cigarette lighter or something. i have a '96 integra if it makes a difference. this would help a lot

Take the power wire, cut it, extend both sides to a switch where-ever u want it, hook it up, pretty easy.

but how do you hook it to the battery?

splice the neon wires into the cig lighter wire. thats what i did in my accord. hoked a switch up to them. wasnt too hard.

You could always just splice the wires and then connect em to a fuse in your fuse panel.

wire the neons straight up to the engine and then wire your switch from the dash through the firewall, it should be easier this way rather than trying to get all the wires into the dash,

nah bro doing it to the cig lighter is much easier to do you can just put the wires up under the dash, and going through the firewall is not always easy. Mine was actuall pretty hard when i was trying to hook up my tach, i wanted to do it through my firewall and there were no easy openings in it. So do it under the dash and with the cig lighter.

the cigarette lighter won't neccesarily have enough power to completely light the neons. the best way to do it would be to run it to the battery, but as stated before that sucks. the second best way would be to run it to your constant or ignition wire under the dash. you simply have to pull down the plastic beneath the steering wheel that hides the wires. generally there's about three screws that hold it on. the test the wires and hook them up. make sure to put a fuse on it, a 10 amp should be enough, and then the switch. if you need help with the colors, let me know and i can try and look them up for you. hope this info helps you out. let us know how it goes.

I'm not sure if the integras have this too but the 92-95 civics have a hole in the fire wall to the right of the battery if your looking from the front, all you have to do is remove the rubber sealer thingy, that is if you have, so someone correct me if i'm wrong, running it through your fender is always an option, might not look ass clean but it works

There is a problem with the cig lighter, you can easily overload and blow fuses if you get to crazy with the hook ups, do it right and wire it all seperate. Might take longer but less chance of them bogging down on you. Use a coat hanger and some electrical tape to pull it through the rubber gasket in your firewall.
