Dual exhaust conversion

I have a 1966 Mustang 289 V8(not hi-po) single exhaust. As a present,I was given an American Thunder dual exhaust kit with 50-series flowmaster mufflers and 2 1/4" pipes. My question is : I don't want to put headers in the car. I want to use the stock manifold.Is there a direct bolt-on pipe that I can connect the manifold to the H pipe of the American thunder exhaust? I am trying not to make customized pipes because it is hard to get to a muffler shop. They make a 2 1/4" H pipe that connects to the manifld but I am not sure if it connects directly to the H pipe of the AT system(can you have 2 H pipes?).Any help will be greatly appreciated!

The american thunder kit has the 2 front pipes that is used to connect to headers with a connecting pipe, there is no direct connect to tthe manifold

On the American thunder kit ,the 2 pipes on the front are part of the H pipe of the AT kit and they have no flange, I was wondering,they do make an H pipe for this car that connects to the stock manifold. If I can directly bolt this H pipe to the AT H pipe,can I have 2 Hpipes?

I'm sure the AT system was designed for headers, and I really doubt that someone makes a conversion pipe. Why don't you want headers? Much better performance and your AT system will fit.. sounds win/win. You can probably get a set for pretty cheap too.

The reason that I do not want to use headers is that the cast iron manifold and is more durable. Also,header bolts have to be retightened and headers tend to get exhaust leaks over time.What do you think about this because I never had a set of headers on my car?

Just make sure that when you replace your single for a dual exhaust on your 66 Mustang, you also reposition the brake like on the left side of the rear axel. If that pipe that goes over the axel ever drops it can crush/sever the brake line and leave you brakeless. The sell a kit to reposition this line at any number of places, American Pony Parts, Mustang Unlimited, Dessert Mustang, to name a few.
