So someone last night broke my passenger window, and stole my new M9900. The part that really confuses me is that the clifford alarm I have (forget the model number I am at work now) showed an intrusion but I didn't hear it go off. I live in an apartment building and no one heard it go off and I live right over my parking spot.... I am wondering how they did it..

Whoever did it was either in a big hurry or a total rook becuase they just ripped the whole stereo, cage and all right out of the console and tore the console up pretty bad in the process. And no I don't have compreshensive.

So I am looking for advice on securing my car in the future (not sure if this 92 civic with some body damage is really worth fixing at this point as just the window is apparently gonna run me $200+) or choosing a car that allows better security of the head unit. One of my neighbors was telling me you can bolt the HU in for more security but I didin't really see how...

Thanks for any advice and sorry if this was an easy search question, just kind of scatterbrained right now. Do'nt like being robbed.

Goto a bone yard and get a window. Then either install it yourself or have a glass place do it. Yes, you can bolt the stereo to the chassis in the back of the dash. My guess is that they cut the siren wires or that just perhaps no one heard it. I would install some pin switches in the hood and also make sure that the door pin switches work good. Many times they do not and the alarm probably only went off after the stereo was yanked. You might want to upgrade to a 2way pager too with a backup battery siren

Thanks, I will go check out the junk yard window situation, I was gonna pull a whole door since my door has a dent in it but getting a door and hanging it is a major pain.

I really can't imagine how no one heard it since I literally sleep right over my car and I can hear a door shut on a car, but I guess I just got really unlucky. The siren still works on the car and if you pop my hood it will set the alarm off, also have a backup battery, which maybe dead by now but not sure.

I will be taking my car to a friend who does installs for a local audio shop to make sure the install was done well (I had it done at Best Buy as I worked there at the time).

This will probably bring on getting a new car in the near future and I will be getting a better alarm. As is the clifford was almost $300 when I bought it 3 years ago, don't really like the idea of spending more than that on an alarm but I guess you gotta do what you gotta do.

Thanks for the advice.

Advice, that alarm has lifetime warranty. Pull it and have it installed in the new car or send it back to DEI for a new one.

Does anyone know where I could buy an aladdin manual? I got the alarm without the manual, and now it's acting up, and I need the manual to reset it. Thanks!

call the manufacturer and ask them if they can send it to to, if not u can go to a local car audio shop and ask for one there...and if they cant give it to u ask then to make a copy of the part that u need.

Nope, you can try to do an internet search or something.
