Nice little project cruiser Ryan!! Wouldn't mind having one myself. Good thing you got a spot cleared out in the garage for it!

No project, she is turn key and ready to roll:
Story on the beetle:
8 years ago a family restored the beetle for their teen age daughter. The restoration included:
-New floor pans
-New Heater channels
-All new TMI (red and Gray) interior
-traded in the tired 1200 for a 1500cc
-new paint
-all new seals
- cheapo radio with tape and a pair of 6x9's in the rear
-normal stuff for a restore
A year after the resto was done the teen age kid wanted a new ride. So the Beetle was stuck in the barn for about 6 years.
This past June the past owner (the guy I bought it from), bought it. The owner bought the car to fix up a bit and take it to cars shows. The previous owners father owns a hot rod truck and his grandfather owns a body shop. So the new beetle was ment to go to car show with his pops. During the next 4 months he did the following:
- New 30 PICT carb
- All new brakes (lines, pads, master cyclinder, and so on)
- new fuel pump, new fuel lines, fuel filter
- new rebuilt transmission
- look a like EMPI rims'
- new rear tires
- LED tail lights
- Updated wireharness
- Crome firewall (I think that is what it is called)
- custom painted fan shroud
- new door hands
- new cap, rotor, plugs, wires
- new muffler
- new heater tubes
- new clutch cable
- new side mirrors
- New front and rear bearing and seals
- new drop beam
- new king pins
So why did he sell? He was sick of not getting any respect from his father hot rod buddies. lucky me.
so far, so good! And not the worry the Amigo will be in the garage for the winter and the Beetle is headed up to my folks 5 car garage and has one spot open for the beetle.

NICE NEW RIDE!!!! :sunglasse
an old friend of mine had one for years, fond memories of toolin' around in it. Mind if we know how much it cost, or do you feel you got a great deal?
Happy Trails,

I paid 3300 for it. I think it was a heck of a deal since I was ready to drop 5k for similar beetles in Cali and have it shipped.
Can't wait for spring!

A 2100cc engine with dual Webers would have got him some respect. :grinyes:
