I have a 2.0L 4G63 out of my 95 Talon. Someone told me that this is an "F" type engine. What does that mean? They said that it means that is has a larger bore size from the factory than the regular 4G63. Is that true?
Also I am going to rebuild this engine and need to know some specifications. Does anyone know where I can find these? I need bore size, main journal size and things like that.
Thanks

IT may be a mitsu rebuild. There will be numbers stamped into the block where the oil pan mates up, and colored dots on the crank if its been cut. You will need a FACTORY manual to decipher the "code" if this is the case. But you cna simply measure the bore as well, stock is 85mm.

An "F" type? Well I know what an F-head engine is, but I doubt that's what you're talking about.

the "F" means that your engine is a turbo. a non-turbo has a "Y" code. it's just a letter in the vin code to tell which engine you have, that's all.
