Hi I have a 99 suburban with a power window (drivers side) that works intermitantly it gets to where it doesnt work then i take off door panel and tap the motor lighty and then it works again. Are these servicable or do i just need to replace it.I hate to spend the money if i can clean it or replace brushes or something.Thanks..

If you have an intermittent and have to tap on the motor, then more often than not the brushes are worn beyond service life. The motorsw are not serviceable except in a shop.

These motor units are built better than the factory unit and carry a lifetime warranty.....which the dealer parts usually don't have.

It's one of the two there listed as 92-99 window motors. Call them up and ask them which one to use. And no you can leave the window up. Just put a small wooden wedge in the bottom of the window to hold it up.
