Dumb Question:
I posted this on the GMC page but no answer yet so figuring that they're the same as a s10 so here's my dumb question:

On a 2000 Sonoma 4x4, 4.3, Where is the Fuel Pressure Regulator. I woulda thought it would be easily visible on the fuel rail back by the firewall but we don't seem to see it??

Thanks,
Gene

your fuel reg is under the plenum cover..just trace you fuel lines to where they enter you engine...the plenum cover has to be then removed to gain access...

It is at the back of the engine on a 2000.

Thanks,
Its atually for brother-in-law's sonoma (Mine is the same). He asked & we were in a hurry (Cold & dark too), All I originally showed him was the fuel rail & told him to follow it back till he got to the regulator. A call later from him saying he still couldn't find it.

The original problem was that the truck starts fine when cold. But after running it a while & when still warm it cranks quite a bit before starting. He did change the fuel filter per my recommendation with no improvement. What's really wierd is he's also got a 93-94 caddy sts that did the same exact thing. Changed the regulator in that & it fixed the problem. Must be something common that he's doing to both vehicles. He does run the cheapest gas in the sonoma but premium in the caddy. Mine with 130K miles used to hesitate when cold. A new fuel filter fixed that which is why I suggested the fuel filter replacement for his.

Thanks Again,
Gene
