Last night I think I've slept the most I've ever slept at one time in my life. 11 hours, slept from midnight (12) to 11 but didn't get up until like 11:30. I usually go to sleep at 2 or 3 then wake up at 10:15 if I have class, or 11:30 if I don't. I got tired early last night for some reason, went to sleep at 12 and got up my usual time of 11. A lot of sleep for me, and I heard a lot of sleep isn't good. Anyways so what is the most you've ever slept at one time?

Oh yeah, that was back in my HS days. I think it was junior prom. My best friend's mom went out of town for a week so before and after the prom everyone partied it up at his place. Hell the prom itself sucked. Everyone just wanted it to be over so we all could go back to the house and rip it! And rip it we did. Ahhhh memories...

The most I've ever slept in any given 24 hour period is 18 hours. I think I had been awake for about 3 days at that stage.

Not sick or from too much drinking I think it was like 15hrs, went to bed at like 7pm and got up at 10am. That was a few months ago actually, had been up for like a day and a half at that point.
When really sick I've gone at least 2 days almost straight without waking up other than to go to the bathroom.
And the 15hrs above, thats without even a piss break. I'm a dead sleeper.

When I was really sick I slept for about 24 hours...prolly only 23 because of getting up to go to the bathroom and to take more meds. Other than that if I don't have class or work I usually fall asleep around 2 or 3 and sleep till noon.

jeez what do you do that requires you to work 72-96 hours straight? You sleep 24 hours straight?
And brian sometimes I won't get up for awhile either when sick, but you are straight sleepin like dreaming right. Man it's been awhile since I've been sick, like 10-12 years *knock on wood* When I do get sick (rarely) I recover in like a day or two. Record was 103 F temp, next day back to 98.6

Similar thing happend to me, just not as high of a fever, but thank god for acetaminophen aka Tylenol. :grinyes:
The most I've ever slept was when I had a gastrointestinal virus, from an Italian dish called Carpaccio (SP?), it's thinly sliced raw beef. It's very good, and specially treated but apparantly that one time I ate it wasn't entirely treated. THis was when I was in 4th grade. Had bloody diarreha (SP?), abdominal pain and cramps like I have never had. I was pretty tough in 4th grade, but it killed so much I wasliterally crying. It wasn't bad enough for the pediatrics to transfer me to the hospital so I stayed home from school for 2 weeks, sleeping for more than 15 hours in the 24 hour day, not eating (lost like 7 something pounds), and waiting the pain out for 2 whole weeks, which felt like an eternity.

My record for not sleeping is... lemme add it up... haha! 77 hours!!! No sleep whatsoever for 77 hours straight. And during the week before that I had slept for about 11 hours total. By the time I got to Spain I was pretty much running on fumes. Slept for a while, then went out and partied the next night :icon16: That was good times.
Oh, and I was lucky that they didn't ask me any questions while I was going through customs... the whole sensation of being that tired was pretty great though. It was like being drunk without all the bad things! My friend next to me on the plane told me that she'd been laughing so hard at my random rants that she almost hyperventilated... lol
Once I got past about... oh, 50 or 60 hours I really didn't feel like sleeping anymore :p

we're doing the most you have ever slept in one night, not the longest you have ever gone without sleeping. Though that would make a good topic as well...

I've also had the days in bed while sick, but the longest I've actually just plain outright slept was 15 hours - no reason, just didn't want to get up. I do 12 on a pretty regular basis though.
On a side note, one day a friend of mine from school didn't show up - he wasn't the type to skip so we wondered where he was. The next day he showed up, and when we asked him where he was, he said he had slept for a straight 36 hours :eek7: He slept over 20 on a regular basis - I wish I had that ability...

I slept through a week of vacation last year, I had a horrible virus. My body decided to hibernate so I could heal. It was at a point where I vomited water I tried to sip. I was out the last week, slept from tuesday to tuesday, waking up only once for about 30 minutes.

Not really in the "24 hour" thing, but iv been sleeping from 8pm to 3pm, then i dose off after i eat lunch, and wake up to eat dinner and play video games until im tired for the last 2 weeks. (its the holidays)
been awhile since I've been sick, like 10-12 years
i dont understand people who never get sick, i get sick every few months.

Haha yeah I've done that too - you settle down for an afternoon nap and end up waking up the next day all confused. You see 6:30 on the clock and assume it's 6:30PM of the afternoon you napped, but nope!

I don't like sleeping a whole bunch either but it happens. I also don't like the feeling of daze and sleepiness during the day, and the only way to cure that is by sleeping more!
