98 concord temp control?

Just picked up a 98, anyone find the problem cure for the cold air blowing unless you turn the temp above 80 ??

Check the inside air temperature sensor on the dash, I can't tell you where it is located on a 98 but on the 93-97's it was behind the dash bezel over the glove compartment behind the "chrysler" label on the bezel. The sensor has a temperature sensing "thermistor" and a very small electric fan to draw air over it from the vent on the bezel to measure the air temperature of the cabin. If the the fan is inoperative, the vent on the bezel, or the sensor is all clogged with dust and dirt then it is possible that the sensor can not measure the cabin temperature correctly and may cause the problem described. If clogged up some of that "Air in a can" spray for cleaning the dust out of computers works really well, just remove the bezel and blow it all out of the sensor and the bezel vent opening. Check the fan operation while the bezel is removed by connecting the harness connector to the sensor, open one of the front doors and then close it, the fan should immediately start running for about a minute or so and then shut off. If the fan does not work then the sensor will need replaced.
